The right material for my acrylic form, two rolls of decal vinyl (black and white),
and a morale patch that fits with the theme and is going on the guitar strap. :)

Being single, IDK. Of course I wouldn't think one patch would
really cause a major rift, since it is a simple decoration for an
instrument, not a massive mural to adorn the wall. :p

My non-stock pan search may have come to an end. I picked this up yesterday, acceptable price and size and supposedly so non-stick it doesn’t need oil or butter. I made a fry-up with it and it performed pretty well. The eggs initially stuck a little but loosened very easily and didn’t stick again after that. There were areas of stuck-on burnt food but it wiped off very easily.

I got my second one two weeks ago, and all seems fine. No reaction after the first, only a very slight (maybe self-induced) reaction to the second.

Isn't it ironic that the world has figured out how to make money from our desire to simplify our lives?

Yeah. It cost a lot more than I thought it would freeing up drawer/everywhere space and getting mesh document holders. Got some other trinkets (ashtray and board), played some chess for the first time in four years. Rare divulgence - but was reminded of accusing my father of letting me beat him once when I was between six and eight years old. Made him so mad he threw the board across the room. The ashtray is pretty useful too, although I don't smoke. Anyhow:

Let's seeee... A Gamestop near me is going out of business, so I nabbed the newest Wolfenstein for my dad, a Dragonball Z fighter for my fiance, and Digimon Cyber Sleuth for myself for under $50.

Also a new joycon set for the switch to abate the joycon drift -__- there goes $80 down the hole. I need to stop spending money.

I've been needing a pair of slipons for casual daily wear around town. A lot of Japanese restaurants have you take off your shoes at the entry and put them in a little locker. Then you've got to put them back on afterwards, when if everything went well you're on your way to drunk. Not the right time to be mucking about with the laces on your favorite Docs.

I wore this same model for several years and several pairs. As my one and only daily wear shoe (before my style foppish awakening) they would last for almost exactly a year. $120 bucks, ten bucks a month. As an occasional weekend shoe I should be able to retire or get hit by a bus before these wear out.

I forgot the Japanese did this. And I can't tell you how logistically (and realistically) ridiculous this would be at my restaurant. First of all, I'd have no ware to put them. We barely have the room and operational infrastructure to take coats. Second, keeping a shitfaced, downtown Providence *woman* upright with her purse and phone together is a full time job... never mind trying to get the *woman's* shoes back on. Third, they'd be taking/stealing the wrong shoes left and right. I'd need security to pull them off each other. Fourth, nobody wear socks in RI. Women are always--always always always--in heels and dudes are almost always wearing dress sandals/slip-ons. Probably get Hep C from walking barefoot across my floors by 9pm on a Saturday night. Or get sticky-stuck around the bar area. And fifth, it's flat against health codes.

and sixth, we don't need any more foreign degeneracy...first it's sushi, then anime--what's gonna be next, respecting your elders, working 25 hours a day and going barefoot in bars? No thank you.

A couple of notebooks from Amazon: an A4 with squared paper and an A5 with plain. I bought the latter because I’ve found it impossible to find blank paper notebooks in the shops!

It's probably a good thing all the shops are shut right now where I am, because if I had any mind about it, I'd be out buying (or at least trying on) clothes upon clothes upon clothes. You can never go wrong with purple trousers.

Once this covid thing is all over, I'm going to start experimenting with eyeshadow and lipstick, which I have never done before. Specifically because I was told not to.

In the meantime, I got a book on acting (someone's recorded the sessions at the Actor's Studio from like fifty years ago and it's all been put together) and it's been here three days, and this book is everything, honestly. I can't even get to New York, let alone live there, so this will have to count as a damn close second,

Now that I've gotten the vaccine, I re-joined my gym (it seemed like an obvious cesspool of virus no matter how much they tried to keep it safe). Now I realize how easy it is to get out of shape after a year off, and how painful it is to start up again. I had promised myself I'd keep working out in my basement, but my slothful self intervened.

I had an epiphany* the other night, realized that Scrivener is not a word processor, that I can and should enter stuff almost will-nilly, and once I select a "compile" mode it fixes it all up. I'd spent a good hour trying to figure out how to insert pages, then in a stroke of dumb luck, opened my Scrivener for Dummies book to the section on "Setting up the Compile Options." The title of the section had seemed too complex for me, so I had skipped over it, figuring that I knew it was irrelevant to, I don't know, making Scrivener work. That section had the answer. When will I, as Chuang Tzu advises, when will I stop thinking that I know.

    Now I almost know.

*This could also be a discussion of synchronicity, since I had only recently been thinking about that, how meaningful coincidences can sometimes occur. How else do I explain that the Dummies book opened to the right page. No index reference, no table of contents search. I just picked it up in desperation.

I bought my first work of fine art.
I commissioned a painting from an artist who lives in my hometown to do a painting for me. I put it up on my wall. I love it, and I can't wait until I move and I can put it up somewhere it will be a centerpiece, complete with proper lighting and all that.
I always loved fine art. I would skulk around galleries and daydream about being able to start my own collection, and now I have.
