I literally can't do anything software wise, because my screen won't turn on, not even a back light, but I know it's not a monitor issue because again, I hooked it up to every TV in the house, and even one of my old monitors, and still, nothing showed up. I did find the button inside the PC to reset my BIOS though, and still nothing. Even taking all the plugs out and pressing the power button for a minute or two didn't work after plugging everything back in. At first, I thought it was a hard drive issue, but it worked just fine when I plugged the drive into my laptop with the sata adapter to test it. Maybe after it warms up over here, I'll see if I can take it in somewhere to get it diagnosed and repaired, hopefully.
I'd remove and re-install the memory module(s) first. This worked for me to solve a different BIOS-related problem: Unplug the power cable. Remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 60 seconds.
Where would the battery, if any, be on a Model C Cyberpower PC? As far as I'm aware, they don't make this model anymore, so I can't find answers on their website, and I can't find it when I open the PC up, unless it runs on a different power source for the time.
This reminds me of something. Are you sure you've plugged the screen cable to the right hdmi output? There are two. One is in case you are using the gcu of your cpu (which is another output) and one is for your gpu. In case you are plugging it in the gpu output and it still won't give you any image, check: a) your gpu wiring b) perhaps for some unknown reason you've somehow set it to work with the cpu's gpu? In case that's the issue though you should have an image just by switching and placing your hdmi cable in the right output. Set it back to the gpu for the love of sweet satan. For example in this image: Number 8 is the cpu's hdmi output and number 12 is the gpu's. Put the cable in n 12.
Just now tried it, and still didn't work. I even switched out HDMI ports on the monitor itself, and tried different HDMI cables.
What kind of gpu do you have and what kind of motherboard? I can help you check your wiring if you'd like. It sounds like something's out of place.
I think the GPU is nvidia, but I don't remember. I'm not sure if this will help what-so-ever, but just in case...this is the kind of PC I have. Yes, it's been cleaned, though I can't get to the back fan, and the 2nd image is sideways for some reason.
That piece was always unplugged and the PC still worked fine before. No where in the PC to connect it to anyway, so I think I have to buy extra hardware to use all those plugs, which I never bothered to do. Like I said, it worked fine without them.
Did you replace anything or did you try to start it up one day and it simply didn't have any visual? From the pic you've sent I can't tell what gpu you have (an AMD from when? Which model?), but at least I can tell that one of the PCI-E's is not connected. Perhaps your card doesn't need the second PCI-E connector to be connected. That's the only weird thing I can tell with what I got. If there's no other slot on the gpu, why not try to replace this PCI-E with what it's already connected at. ETA: If your computer supports two graphics cards, you may have plugged into the slot with no graphics card inserted.
I was on it one time, and the screen shut off. That was on Jan 23rd, so I've had problems since then. I turned the PC off, and turned it back on, and nothing came on screen, so I looked inside and noticed the front fan wasn't working. The black and yellow wire with the white plastic casing is the ones I had to replace. The fan works fine now after that, but I then noticed the fans in the XFX casing will spin for a second, then shut off. I can't recall if that has happened when the PC began having trouble, or if it's recent, because I was focused on the front fan at the time. I took out the PCP cables and reinserted them, but it still won't work. Then I looked on Youtube for a tutorial on how to remove and reinsert the graphics card. Problem is that thing takes force to remove, without the screws, and while I couldn't remove it, just now, I almost broke it trying. So, I'm done. I'm going to wind up destroying my PC before I'm able to fix it, so I moved it to another room until I can get someone to come look at it for me. Thank you for your help though, everyone. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate it!
I've been binging Vikings on Netflix the last couple of weeks. I think the sets and costumes, although not totally accurate, are well done. The acting is solid and the storyline is pretty interesting, especially when I found out it is (sort of) based on real events. However, there was a scene where a soon-to-be important female character was introduced bathing in a pool in the woods. It was discreetly cropped and cutaway to avoid showing anything too revealing, so I (as one does) paused the video and asked The Internet if the young lady had ever, perchance, shown a little bit more of herself in a voluntary setting. I don't approve of nonconsensual paparazzi shots, and nor should you. Spoiler Unless they're of royals and/or hereditary nobility. They exist on the public dole and have for centuries, there should be cameras in every room of every place they stay. Work for your paychecks, you inbred monsters. Only to find out that the actress in question had put much more on display in the very same scene. Netflix (or Netflix Japan, I will continue to investigate) had bowdlerized the director of photography's, the actress's agent, and the actress herself's artistic vision! Was this lack of nudity consensual, I ask? And more importantly, O Flix of the Net, where else on the internet do you expect me to find a brief glimpse of an adult female breast? WHERE, DAMN YOU?!?!?!?
Does anybody remember this original scene from the '76 King Kong remake? There were boobs! They exist no longer. The scene has been quietly removed from apparently all versions that can now be seen, unless maybe you've got the original VHS release, and possibly even there. A little George Lucas level revisionism, censoring all of our fondest adolescent memories. Wait, I said memories, right? Interestingly, that scene was supposed to be in the original movie as well. It was made in Pre-Code Hollywood, and originally Fay Wray agreed to do the scene, but had second thoughts about it and it was changed before shooting. The idea definitely comes across though. EDIT—And I realize I missed the irony of your post @Iain Aschendale ; the stupid and pointless censoring of things easily found online. But trust me, I searched, and at the time at least, those particular boobs (from that movie anyway) were nowhere to be found. For free anyway. Ah, the memories...
The thing that sucks the most about anxiety, I've found, was that once you finally think you've gotten a grip on it, it turns around and goes, 'Hey, think of all those years you wasted!' Like you little shit, you did this to me! >:[
The Harry and Meghan saga is now becoming ridiculous. You would think that as a middle aged married couple they would discuss any burning issues within the confines of family instead of having a 'tell all' with a world renowned talk-show host and journalist. You should read some of the readers comments on certain news articles. You'd think that an all-out war is about to erupt between the USA and UK. Pathetic really.
also its hardly a normal family... they are not just dealing with mum and dad... but with the entire palace 'institution' of staff and flunkies. a long while ago the tree surgery firm i was working for at the time did some work to the trees in the grounds of a royal palace... and i have to say that the security and background check was nothing compared to the bureaucracy and process imposed by the institution... we'd imagined that once Mi5 had established that we weren't terrorists or spies it would be a simple matter of doing the work and not dropping a log on a corgi... really really not... I can't go into detail because we all had to sign NDA's but I can say is that it's not an environment in which I would want to live
I hate how the royal family hijacks American news. I wish the UK would abolish the monarchy and become a republic, not because I have anything against monarchy as a concept but because I'm beginning to actively dislike these people. Everywhere I turn the royal family is staring back at me. Why does the American public care about them? I'll never know.
British Royalty on American TV gives people something to focus on aside from the Enquirer and soap operas.
