Breakfast $10, Lunch $15, Dinner $25. The lines are pretty loose though. Could spend less on the first two meals and just go for around $50 on the dinner. I like multiple meals, though, so I usually don't. That, and LA is rather expensive, especially if you have to do delivery.

 

I sometimes get in on those meals and conferences. Best times. Manager comes in and blows thousands on drink and food for like 15 of us. Pharma always tries to get deals and longer warranty times too, so theyll money dump as well. But the standard old travel like right now gets a flat fifty for us littler guys. Used to be a 63 per diem, but they got cheap as usual. Still, cant beat free.

 

I went on a testing det once in the Marines. We got hotel rooms, rental cars (minivans, 6 Marines to a van), and per diem meals despit the fact that the hotel not only served breakfast but adjusted it to our working schedule. $45 bucks a day per diem meals, which worked out to pretty much the same as my monthly salary at the time, plus we were working a screwed-up midnight schedule that meant that lunch was pretty much a guaranteed brown-bag deal. I banked my entire paycheck, bought three guns in three months, and ate good steak every weekend. I did learn that "rare" means a very different thing in the Southwest though. It was still twitching.

 

Took this at work today. A little too busy but I just liked the juxtaposition of it all (not sure I’ve used that word correctly but you get my drift hopefully). I suspect these sheep are now radioactive!

Blue tit in the local park this afternoon.

 

I know I've got color vision issues, but I would have expected something more, well, blue.

 

That would make things far too easy.

My mom was a birdwatcher, as it sounds like yours was, and one thing I learned from her is that birds are often named for a tiny streak of color that differentiates them from similar birds, like the poorly-named Redheaded Woodpecker, which has only a red stripe down the center of the head. If you look really close, there's just a tiny streak of metallic blue on the head and another one on the wing of that Blue Tit. Honestly though, I see no t*ts whatsoever.

 

Reminds me of the Eastern Blue Bird.... I was expecting a Blue Jay type bird or something as blue as the Indigo Bunting....
Its basically a robin in a blue sweater... Red breast, bluish back and wings.

 

Sounds like the way I dress in Winter Professor Mode. Do any of the surfaces resemble tweed or corduroy? Did you check for elbow patches? Do birds have elbows? If not, where, pray tell Ms. Librarian and Dispenser of All Information, may I file a formal complaint with the Supremist Deity or Prof. Darwin?

More birds. This guy buzzed me with a dead pigeon while out walking this morning. The only reasonable response was to take some pictures of it having breakfast.

Don’t think it’s a kestrel. I could be wrong.

 

It's a peregrine falcon. There's 50-60 of them living in London, and a pair of them use a church steeple near me as a lookout perch for hunting.

 

I don't know why I decided to put this T-rex photo here but have you seen the Jurassic Park/World movies?
