If you can save ideas from drowning, they become your loyal allies.

That's why this is so common in Finland.

In Finland we have these quiet wooden meditators. If you know how to listen to their silent words, they give you ideas worth a forest or two.

Finns crossbred reindeers and toothfairies. Now we have toothbrushdeers. They look like this:

If you ask them good ideas, they will tell you those. And the only thing you must pay from those ideas is to let tootbrusdeers to brush your teeth.

I use to drive to Scotland with my reindeer sledge. There is a lake called Loch Ness.

In that lake lives a mysterious creature. It's The Camel of Loch Ness.

We are old friends. That's why it let's me to talk with it, to photograph it, to bring it some fresh water and hey from Finland....

And it tells me all the ideas it has heard while listening to those fools who want to capture it.

This glass troll lives in our cup board. Every time I illuminate it, it tells me some of it's secrets.

But I must be careful with the balance between light and dark, because it tells secrets which have similar balance between good and evil as the light and dark.

You seek mediocrity after it has fallen and is on the way of rotting down.

Then you focus on the way it reacts to those who are growing and developing.

Decaying trunk with delusions of greatness and power. There is a seed of a good story.

I write comedies (I may have floated this idea for a children's drama series, but mostly I write comedy)/they write themselves...
And inspiration for that comes from life...

Case and point; the other day my older brother was helping me move some things from one room to another, and he picks up this old heirloom, this bronzed looking marble mounted statue of an eagle...
He picked it up and examined it in front of me and said all serious
    "I'm no expert..."
and he's saying this intelligently and all so my own curiosity of his examination was suddenly peeked, he won my full attention to what he was going to say next -
"But I think it's an eagle."
Of course, me being me, I laughed at him, and told him why I thought it was so funny, expecting him to tell me about the statue's minerals and all (don't read The Catcher In The Rye if you don't want to say 'and all' for about a week)..

But this inspired a fan fic for The Simpsons I want to write...
Where the Simpson family are in a house clearing (maybe Mr. Burn's mansion) and Homer picks up this priceless hippo statue he finds, holds it up and says

    Some gag I wrote dressed up like The Simpsons;

INT Burns' Mansion Day Scene / gag

The Simpson family are at old man Burn's mansion because the old man finally kicked the bucket, or so it would seem.

Burns Mansion Day, The Simpson Family are pouring over the remains of Burn's old mansion that collapsed leading to his demise.
The Simpson family are dressed in personal protective equipment (PPE) suited to the task.
Homer is seen holding an old hippo statue, he examines it, takes a closer inspection.

    Homer (seriously)
    I'm no expert...

Lisa stops to hear her father's examination of this ornate hippo statue he found.

Homer is looking carefully at the statue thinking.

    Homer (seriously)
    ... unless I'm mistaken, but I do believe it's a hippo.

Or if The Simpsons ever do Pawn Stars and Homer decides he wants to be a bald successful Pawn Broker like Rick Harrison, and Homer can set up shop at the Simpson Home and Moe's getting his antique heirloom hippo statue appraised at Homer's new pawn shop and Homer's all like

    Homer (seriously)
    I'm no expert...

Moe is anticipating to hear good news about his statue he's trying to sell.
Homer is looking carefully at the statue thinking.

    Homer (seriously)
    ... unless I'm mistaken, but I do believe it's a hippo.

    Moe (deadpan serious)
    Hire an expert Homer.

"Where do you get your ideas" had totally different topic even that the question was the same. The topic of that thread was this:

Now this thread is some kind of "tell a joke which is not true meets documentary” -mongrel.

Could you please delete all my comments because now they are in a wrong place? Or can I do it myself without getting banned?

I've done my best to separate them again - unfortunately we don't have an 'unmerge' function so it had to be done manually - in some cases it was hard to tell which thread posts belonged to so if anyone's post has wound up in the wrong thread, report it and we'll move it.

Ive also moved this thread to writing prompts, since it is essentially a prompt for creativity

I did not observe the "social distancing" rule and now I'm infected with ideas. I need to self isolate for 14 days. Who knows what all these strange ideas will do to my body?

    Hey all.

    20200309_185207[1].jpg
Meet Wally, he's the new cat in my life. He's also a new source of ideas.

    Here's how it works:

Even though Wally has a very quiet voice he meows (hisses or even growls when I fail to respond) at me when a new idea is coming through for me. At such times I must watch his tail. The ideas need to be decoded from the ways he moves it and what he touches with it.

That's all I've got for now.

When I paint a picture with watercolor or something else, the painting dries and tells me ideas based on the picture I've painted. It's a bit hard to hear their ideas since they speak in another language and I need to use google translate.

I get my ideas from a commercial Think Tank in Philadelphia. By paying an annual fee, I am eligible to receive the Idea of the Month Package plus a bonus idea specifically designed for the holiday of my choice, including Christmas, Sukkot, Administrative Assistants' Day, or Halloween.
