People seem to care more about the dead then the living

Sometimes the dead are easier to get along with. They don't argue back, never interrupt the conversation, and don't call during dinnertime.

They're like slugs in some ways. Don't like salt. If one gets kinda mouthy, toss a handful of salt over him or her and he or she will dissolve. I've had coworkers I wished that worked on...

I was surprised no one had jumped on this so thank you for not disappointing.

Jerking off on my commute to work sounds a bit reckless though.

I was just watching the NG channel where a small wildebeest was caught by a croc on the edge of a river, also infested by hippos. The croc caught it by the horns but the ‘beest struggled into deeper water. The hippos watched this for a while but when the stricken animal had made it to the deepest waters, with a couple of crocs’ jaws still clamped around it, two hippos began to attack the crocs. This forced the release and the wildebeest made it safely to the other side.

We’re told the animal kingdom doesn’t show compassion, so what was going on here?

I wish real journalism still existed.

This plague of sensational headlines contradicting all of the content in the article is truly becoming next level.

I know there are still great journalists out there but they're buried in the heap and it's a damn shame.

My journalistic pet peeve: journalists who skewer evidence slightly or hugely to make a better story. I called someone out on this a while back because the skewered story served to fan flames that were already leaping high enough. She informed me that it didn't matter if the information quoted "wasn't quite accurate" as long as it helped make a valid point. No. One cannot make valid points using inaccurate evidence. It was at least the third time she'd pulled such nonsense that I knew of, and at that point, I was done with her and her disregard of journalistic ethics.

I'd say journalism has sort of exited the main stream media and moved further toward the esoteric. Truth, unfortunately, is boring as hell and doesn't generate clicks or sales on the levels needed to sustain publications/broadcasts in a competitive market overtaken by sensationalism. It's really important to differentiate between information and entertainment in there. Unfortunately, most people are too stupid to tell the difference.

Whatever single entity is responsible for the diabolical way all of those are written is truly satanic. No good ever comes out of them.
This is also true with rating books based only on their reviews and commercial advertising. Most people too stupid to make their minds up for themselves.

and not all of the things you think of as berries are berries... strawberries for example, biologically, aren't. Blackberries and raspberries... aren't either. Bananas on the other hand are berries. As are avocados and aubergines :confuzled:

Wankered meaning drunk, or wankered meaning stuffed/inundated with wankers, which in the US is sort of synonymous with dicks/masturbation.

As in drink. Drink. My eyes are shot at the best of times. I’m trying to say drunk.
