Yes. The other one I 'know' anyway, not sure if that's who Iain is talking about. He might not be aware she's from there. Wait, let me try this: @Soph Nope. It isn't Sophie something or the site would have auto-filled the rest of the name. But it's something like Sophie, pretty sure it starts with an S.
It's @SadieNightingale I remembered she used to talk about Fan Fiction a lot so I went into that subforum and there was her avatar pic plastered all over several threads.
I'm a 43 year old straight and happily married female. Due to health issues I am a house wife. I am a fiction and fantasy writer. I have very little experience with writing as its something I have never explored seriously tell covid happened. I spent lockdown working on the start of my first novel which is coming along nicely so far.
Hmm, the other person from SA I know is from a different writing forum, now defunct. He usually goes by Space Lemon but hasn't set up an account here. I don't remember interacting with Sadie, but fanfic isn't my thing really.
I am eighteen, and I write fanfics about everything like celebrities, and descendants also dolls and toys or and I write stories about anything or my life
Hi, I am a student and recently began writing. I am exploring historical fiction and magical realism.
34 year old, female, married, momma who is just getting into writing so I don’t really have a genre per se, but I lean towards ya dystopian and fantasy. I read mostly fantasy, mystery, and sci-fi so that’s probably where my writing will head.
Love it! Magic realism is my jam. Along with Urban fantasy and soft fantasy. Although, these days, I earn my bread and butter writing and editing nonfiction self-help/personal development.
I am female, 14, bi and happily dating an enby. And I write mostly mystery, fantasy, and adventure. My novels mostly have multiple main characters. Nice to be here.
AAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Name is Harkness or Hark whatever works A 21-year-old dude who happens to really love Post Apocalyptic fiction and military stuff. I write brutal and grimdark Esque novels. Currently, I am working on Meltdown a post-apocalyptic novel set in Ukraine many years after WW3 went hot. In a world where might makes right. It doesn't help that the people who happen to be mighty are horrible people! I aim to smash the rose-tinted glasses we all tend to have for Rebel Stories, Showing how revolutions are bloody and just horrible. And sometimes the power that they aim to replace ends up consuming them.
I'm a non-binary teenager in the United States (unfortunately) who mainly writes murder mysteries or fantasy, with the occasional poem (and I'll admit it, fanfiction). Most of my stories have queer characters, most with different genders, ages, and sexualities. Most of my stories are pretty gorey or dark, and don't always have a happy ending (happy endings are overrated in my opinion).
Good evening! I'm 23 yr old avid reader and aspiring writer. When I was 10 yr of age I used to write stories and grew fond of the characters I created. My dream was to have them read by many, and also critiqued. All the content was lost. And yet, the memory of them encourages me to think about writing like I once did. Perhaps an autobiography or fantasy fiction where the characters are animals
Hello. I am 31. I haven't written anything in a long time but I look forward to resuming my progress as an author. My writings will likely be various flavors of fiction.
Sixty five year old male. Had a career being a "maker" before that was a thing. Never thought of being a writer until I was in my fifties. A stereotype about old men, and one I think transcends ethnicity, is that some of us like telling stories. That's me. I have had experiences that fit the category of "you can't make up stuff like this." A lot of my stories are rants related to that. I have had three novels in the works for years. One is a coming of age story inspired by my own experience from fifty years ago as a new kid in town. The second is inspired by the little bit I know about someone I knew as a child, that is fodder for what I think could be a good story. The latest is a dystopian tale inspired by recent events. I am not gay, but the protagonist of the second story I mentioned above is. Vince Higgins is a pen name derived from frequent mispronunciations of my name, which sounds nothing like Vince Higgins. I made a business call to Texas one time about sending a crew out there to survey a construction site. I asked the guy at the other end, who had a Spanish last name and a thoroughly Texas accent, if a nearby town had an airport. His response was "naw, that towns only Single A." "What?" Turns out that was the classification of the town's high school football team.
Texas is a big state. When we moved from south Texas to the Galveston area when I was a kid, I got hassled about the way I talked.
Heck yeah for xenofiction, wish it was a bigger genre outside of any Erin Hunter property, Redwall, Watership Down, Felidae, Varjak Paw, etc. (Great as those are.) There’s probably more xenofiction examples that I’m not aware of, though. Speaking of which, I’ve been planning my own xenofiction series about monkeys in Costa Rica, but that’s been sidelined for twelve different projects.
