Hi there! I'm just somebody who likes to write and read for fun, nothing too serious. I've never written a long work; I've started some years ago but they remain incomplete. I'm better with short stories, but no matter what I write I feel like it's never good enough (as in, I feel that others could do better, and therefore so should I, but I find myself incapable of doing so). Luckily, because I only do this for fun, I don't put all that much pressure on myself and I often just enjoy the process. Now, you might have noticed something as read those past 4 sentences: the sentence structure. I have a certain way of writing that involves many commas and/or long sentences. I don't know why and I recognize that part of keeping a reader engaged involves having varied syntax, but I struggle greatly with finding ways to spruce up my writing (short sentences often bother me). I joined this forum to learn tips for this as well as tips on writing when stuck, developing plots, and improving writing scenes (I always feel like I'm too brief). I've already spent a lot of time browsing on here and I can tell that you are all amazing people! I look forward to learning more.
Welcome! This is a great place to learn...heck, I've been writing for years and I learn something nearly every day on here.
