The Raiders first round pick is actually a good player :D

Probably not the best we could have gotten there, but much, much, much, better than it could have been. I was right they were going interior, just not which side of the ball. I wanted McClain or an OT, or a trade down for Iupati, so I'm very happy right now.

Eesh, the Philly fans (haters?) are a nightmare. I love how everyone at the draft is trying to ignore the VERY OBVIOUS "Eagles suck!" chants going on. :D

This draft takes forever. :/ It's outrageous and we HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING. Come on, Teddy, draft up!

At least the first round is only ten minutes a pick now, compared to fifteen. Back when they did rounds 1-3 on the first day, it could go on past midnight.

The teams have had months to make their plans; just give them 5 minutes and if they miss the time, too bad. They drag this out so long it's ridiculous.

    Tennessee..... waiting for Green Bay.

With the teams selecting after the first pick I can understand it. That leaves them some extra time to trade if a team wants to move it. Though it seems weird for the team with the first pick to wait so long. Back when it was fifteen minutes, the first team would know who they wanted, already have negotiated a contract and still wait until like the final minute to pick.

It also doesn't help that the NFL is spoiling the surprise by showing the phone calls before the names are called.

EDIT: We're 2 away from Green Bay! :D

Just going to interrupt the draft talk for a sec....

I am pleased to announce the first team eliminated from the NHL playoffs: The New Jersey Devils :p

The best part is I won't have to see them play again until October :D:D:D

With Bulaga on the board, given how bad their line was last year surely he has to be Green Bay's pick?

Edit: it is. Amazing he fell this far. Even crazier that Clausen is still on the board. Please trade up Al, this could be a franchise re-defining steal!

No one before the next Radiers pick is likely to take him and there are still two really good quarterbacks on the board. It'd probably be better for them to stay there and keep as many picks as possible.

This was a good pick by the Packers. They needed some help on the O-line.

    YES! We got Bulaga! :D

I'm hearing "Go Pack Go" chants, and I also thought I heard "Thompson sucks" chants...... lots of GB fans are calling for his head (have been for a while). At first I thought they were saying "Packers suck" and got mad, but listen closely and it's "Thompson sucks". THAT I can deal with. :D (Although I like Teddy.)

I actually wanted Bulaga for the Raiders, but didn't think he'd make it to us. For Green Bay, he's a great pick up, one of the best of the draft so far.

Definitely excited to see what he's gonna do. Great pickup by TT, let's get the kid on the field! :D

Tebow to the Broncos? I love it. He's not an NFL calibre qb.

I'm happy for the Ravens trading down. Getting three picks (a second, a third and a fourth) was a good move when there wasn't a top player there for them to take.

This was a bad move by the Broncos. You had three good qbs left so giving up that much for Tebow was a reach at best. I think he'll be good down the road, but the others are better now. Then again, there was a time when people thought Ryan Leaf for a sure bet in the NFL. So who knows, maybe the Broncos will look like geniouses a few years from now.

Sharks win game 5 5-0. First game in the series where the score has reflected the balance of play. Now that they've solved Anderson tonight, it's time to close it out in Colorado.

I hope Minnesota or the Browns pass on Clausen, or the Raiders can trade up. Otherwise, I think the 2nd round pick from Oakland is going to be OT Bruce Campbell.

Tim Tebow got drafted by the Broncos. Surprise, Surprise! Apparently, they can stand his weird rantings.

I have nothing against Tebow, and I love that he has such strong convictions about his faith. If that makes ANYBODY think that he won't suceed in the NFL, look up Reggie White. Very religious and was the Minister of Defense. :) Plus, you never know. None of these guys has played an NFL game yet and already people are throwing them under the bus. I say let's wait and see.

I have nothing against him, too. I find it good he has such strong convictions. I just hope he doesn't get too involved that it affects him. Let's face it, if it does, then the public will assume the next overtly religious player will be the same, bar Bush.

His beliefs will have nothing to do with his (highly unlikely) success or (extremely probable) failure. Tebow isn't an NFL calibre qb, and while I can imagine his proselytizing appealing to some teammates and alienating others, it has nothing to do with his ability to play quarterback.

Raiders pick in the 2nd round was a bit surprising, but solid- Lamarr Houston. Clearly, stopping the run is a priority.

Clausen falls to Carolina. He's a steal for them this deep in the draft.

Agreed. He has a chance to beat out Moore for the starting role, though I think, like with most rookie qbs, it'll be better for him to sit the first year. Also that'll give the Panthers another year to add playmakers for him.

I like the Raven's first pick. He needed a good pash rusher, opposite of Suggs. If Kindle can also defend short routes and learn to cover backs, he could become a starter for them.

I like the Kindle pick as well- some teams have reached for players they want, leaving players projected to go higher available. I think Kindle will be a good fit for Baltimore.

Raven's picked up Terrance Cody (or Mount Cody as the guys called him at the draft). He's a massive DT. Playing next to Ngata, they'll be very hard to run against.

I think they should take a defensive back in the third round.

It seems DT/NTs were the trendy pick in round two :p

I kind of wanted the Raiders to take Cody, but given the less... strict environment, his conditioning problems could have gotten worse. I guess Baltimore isn't happy with how their defense played this last season.
