They almost got the prize, just 15 minutes to late. I actually watched the game (It was much slower than i expected) I did love the other semi final though. Go Fulham, with the Aussie keeper . Was a great game.
is it still 3 and 2? or did they wrap it up 4 and 2? (Bit behind without cable). I don't remember them ever being good But i've only been watching it since the Jordan days (and missed a lot after that)
Wow. Now, this is amazing. It's the last day of the season in League One next weekend, and Town are one of FIVE clubs vying for the second automatic promotion spot. L**ds currently hold it. They have 83 points and a goal difference of +32, and play Bristol Rovers at home. Millwall are third, with 82 points and a GD of +31, and they play Swindon at home - and Swindon are currently 4th also with 82 points, although their GD is only +17. Behind them come Charlton, who go away to Oldham with 81 points and a GD of +21. Finally, Town have 80 points and a GD of +27 and go away to Exeter. For Town to get promoted: -L**ds must lose at home; -Millwall and Swindon must draw; -Charlton must fail to win; -and Town must win by 4 goals. Unlikely, but this is Town and this is the wonderful game that is football. Until the 94th minute and the very last touch of a football this afternoon we were out of the automatic promotion race, but then Lee Novak stole in to score a last-gasp winner and L**ds conceded at Charlton (to an ex-Town player!). It would be amazing if we could do it.
Looks like old man Favre needs ankle surgery to continue playing. I'm not even gonna get into this wounded lover/pissed-off ex tirade.
Hoffman finally remembered how to save a game last night, and the Brewers won... only to lose again today.
Sharks win and take a 2-0 lead in the series. Huge win. Now if they can manage just a split in Detroit, they'll have a chance to wrap it up at home in Game 5, but even if they don't win either game 4 or 5, the series will only be tied and the Sharks would still have two home games remaining.
Bucks lost of course. Oh well, I still love my team. And getting to the playoffs, finally, is a great achivement! Now if the Brew Crew can make the playoffs I will be happy.... it's a while away. And the offseason for football is going by fast and I cannot WAIT to see those rookies in action. Bulaga/Lang gives me all kinds of chills, even though they probably won't start this season, especially not if Cliffy & Tausch can stay healthy (I hope so!!!). We are so lucky to get great players and then follow them up with great players.
The Sharks won last night to go up 3-0 in their series with Detroit. The key isn't just that they finally showed killer instinct and put up a win against a more desperate opponent, but that they found a way to come back from down 2 with less than 13 minutes to play. Right now, Boston is up 2 in the third over Philly, if they win they will also be up 3-0. I guess you could say a sweep is... a Bruin?
Tim Tebow's jersey is the #1 selling jersey in the NFL ATM. Well that was fast. He's reminding me of.... gosh, I don't know. Maybe David Beckham or Tiger Woods (not in THAT way for the last one), who play the game not like players, but like celebrities who have decided to take up a sport. He hasn't done anything to warrant this, but the media's portrayal of him makes me think like he's Brad Pitt suddenly deciding to be a QB.
The Raiders released Russel. Now I wonder who will sign him, just to get a first hand look. He could still have a good career if he uses this to light a fire under him. Only time will tell I guess.
No chance; he's by far too lazy and can't seem to stay in shape. At least he's financially stable enough to retire.
Russell is one of the biggest wastes of talent in NFL history. He has no interest in putting in the effort necessary to transition from college star to reliable pro. That being said, I could see a team relatively secure in their starter taking a chance on him, because he had so much potential coming out of college. I think he'd be a better fit in the CFL than the NFL right now though- if he wants to do it, he may just learn how to be a pro and he has the physical talent to start immediately and be a star there. The down side is the team most in need of qbing help right now is the Argos, and I'd rather not have him on any of my teams. I wonder in about ten months or so how many Tebow jerseys will be showing up in yard sales. Could be record setting
^ Exactly. And the amount of Tebow jerseys trashed/burned/vainly attempted to be sold will probably outnumber the singing Billy Bass fish you mount on the wall.
In 2001 all results went against us and we were relegated from what is now the Championship. In 2010, we're the real outsiders on the last day of the season and results need to go for us so we can get back into the Championship for the first time in 9 years. Why do I get this feeling that today is going to be a momentous day in the proud history of Huddersfield Town and that I'm going to be celebrating promotion at 5pm? It's all stacked up against us. We don't have a chance. But it's not stopping this feeling, and nor is it stopping the tension and the nerves of the final day of the regular season. Those were the days, my friend, We thought they'd never end, We won the League three times in a row, We won the FA Cup, And now we're going UP! We are the Town, Oh yes, we are the Town!
Machida vs. Shogun 2 is on in a couple of hours. I am pretty stoked. Hopefully, if it gets to the judges they don't rob Shogun again. I think the difference in this fight may be the ground game, I wouldn't be surprised to see either or both of the fighters look for takedowns. Also, another hilarious Kimbo Slice fight
Shogun win by knockout in the first, wow! I knew he was going to win tonight, but I didn't think it'd be over so soon. He's finally back As for Koscheck, one guy I'd love to never see in the UFC again. At least it's going to be great watching GSP crush him. Also, Sharks beat Detroit and advance to the Conference Championships, the final four of the NHL! Tomorrow, their likely opponent can wrap up their series so this could be one of the fastest 2nd rounds in a long time. In short, Koscheck aside this was a pretty awesome night. I'm so happy for Shogun
So. Millwall. Over two legs, starting at the Galpharm. I fancy us here. Millwall will be on a downer from missing out on auto in the way they did, and all the pressure will be on them playing home second. We have to get off to a flyer at the Galpharm, though. Have to. I won't be going to the away leg. For most away legs like this, I'd be there. But as this is Millwall and not some decent club without the hardcore hooligan element, I'll be giving it a miss in case we win. If we win down there, I get this horrible feeling we'll see major trouble as their fans attack ours. I have no wish to come away from the second leg with broken bones.
Canuckleheads beat the Hawks instead of becoming fodder for all of Canada to pick over. Detroit is done. HaHA! Very pleased.
The best part is that the Sharks were scheduled to Monday night- my birthday. The last time one of my teams played on May 10th, it was the night of the infamous Alfredsson cheapshot on Tucker followed by a game winning goal. At least the Leafs came back to bury Ottawa in game 7. That the Sharks actually managed to finish a team off is a happy bonus. With the Canucks extending the series, the Sharks can relax and hope for a physical, exhausting game 6, and maybe even a game 7. Much as I loathe them, I want to see Montreal take Pittsburgh the distance. Either way though, I'm hoping whoever takes the West wins the Cup. Except maybe Vancouver.
