As part of our 'work exchange', my cousin has used her professional illustrating skills to full effect for me. Decision to be made...
We've been in a severe drought for most of the year, and it got bad to the point where nobody had hay, crops were in trouble.. rain is soo nice.
whoa my username is like navy blue now, pretty boss Plus I'm feeling good doing my first rewrite/edit. I got some holes to fill but I should be good to brainstorm some query letter drafts soon.
Pea - thanks. I try my best to keep it up nice and steady! Pallas, mine is navy blue too. Does anybody know why?? Does it involve rep or post count or post-per-day rate or what?
According to the VM I got from Daniel, it has to do with rep points, I think. Anyway, I'm happy because I finished the first day of orientation without dying or having a panic attack or anything.
It's explained in the 'Is it just me' thread in the Suggestions and Feedback section. Congrats to your girlfriend!
I started writing what was meant to be a short story for my little brother. It turned (like all my work) into a novel length idea. I've really gotten into the story, and I think I'm going to try and continue with it. It's YA fantasy though, which is weird for me considering I usually write very adult crime/thriller (occaisonally supernatural) stories. Do you reckon it's possible to write one story and edit another, even if they're in totally different genres? Or will that just mess with my voice in both of them? Anyway, I'm happy because I like the idea I've gotten for my brother's story. I think I could take it somewhere really interesting, if I can manage the style
Having a wonderful discussion with my fellow Fallout fans in the Bethesda forums. =D It's been a while since I've been engrossed in a topic about videogames (mostly it was me offering tips for struggling players), and I'm happy.
Ok. After the whole business of setting up a magazine, an operation and my grandmother being seriously ill, I think I'm ready to start submitting a short story or two. But I'm also juggling studying for my theory test at the moment.
Last night, three scenes for my novel played in my mind like a dream movie. I love it when I feel like the story is telling itself to me, and I am simply here to dictate. I learned today that Coldplay's new album, Mylo Xyloto, will be released on October 24th. In short, today I am a walking happy emoticon.
Butt hurts. Head hurts. One of the muscles right above my right ankle hurts. My right hip hurts. I am covered in paint and dirt and grass. I smell like sweat and smoke. My eyes are bloodshot and I got less than 3 hours of sleep last night. All signs of a good time! And I'm officially on summer vacation as of 11:15AM yesterday. For a whole two weeks.
Sounds fun Merc! I'm writing the most kickass escape scene ever...it involves the good guys unleashing monstrous wolflike creatures on the bad guys...hehe. I've got an open suitcase lying on the floor, and my cat is sleeping in it. She's the cutest being ever. She is my baby. I'll have to get a pic of her on here someday (she's a Maine Coon, at least mostly.)
Nice. There are a few albums coming out soon which I'm interested in. Generally, I think it's been a bit of a boring year for new releases... reflected by the low number of CDs I bought. Unusual for me...
Just rescued a live turtle from my pool, with my bare hands. I know it doesn't seem like much, but know that (a) I'm a wuss when it comes to handling live animals that are not dogs and cats. I jump. (b) Last time, I had to use a pool net because I'm that big of a wuss, but this time I grabbed it and deliberatly carried it to safety all while it was pawing at my thumb with its feet. Yeah, I know it's not top of the list of most heroic thing ever accomplished, but I feel good about it.
