I feel like it's not a good idea to continue posting here with all that's going on. Just want to say thanks to the community for being so positive and helpful, I really found WF useful the last year or so. Good luck with all your writing things.

    Pea, catching the train. :p

So, yeah. I've returned for a bit. I may be scattered about, but I'll be around again. Missed the forum some.

I have been away for a while so I guess I might as well check in as well. Missed you all very much and sorry I haven't checked in more often. Amazing how much time can go by if one doesn't stay on top of these things.

What have I missed eh? Someone please fill me in:p

    It's good to be back!

I can't say for sure why I've been absent from the forum, though my best guess would be that "life got in the way". It's funny how so much can change in a short time in life, yet something as simple as a forum delivers a comfort that is really quite settling. Recognising usernames and feeling a connection to them offers a certain sense of belonging that can be quite rare in the 'real world'. Philosophical I know :p

Ah the empty white canvas lending itself to my thoughts, desires and problems; how I've missed thee.

No real purpose to this thread, just letting my fingers clear my mind. Though if anyone would care to share, how've you all been? :)

Oh, hello there. Am I returned? Yes, it appears I am.
Only for now and the next two days slightly, and then there's an event in my city called The Rabbit Hole where a bunch of writers will be together each trying to write 30,000 words in three days, and then I'll be back semi-professionally. :D

I'm back as well after wandering around Nepal, Europe and Iceland for about 6 months. Now I'm broke and unloading rental storage units in lovely mid-summer Texas... I'll need something to get me through these next few weeks. Writing will help.

Time to put down my pen

    Well, figuratively anyway.
Nursing school starts in a week. I guess I can't work on my fun research anymore. Maybe during winter break I'll play some, but for now I have to focus on my grades. I'll try and stop in occasionally to say hi. You guys have been a wealth of information for me.

Good luck in your endeavors! I look forward to hearing many finished stories!

Yes, school has to take priority. But if you can fit in half an hour a day of writing, just to keep your hand in. it may be a good break from the grind.

In any case, see you during term break. Dazzle them all!

I'm going to see what I can fit in. Other than research, I haven't been working on my story, and I think that may be a bit heavy for during school. I have been writing poetry though, just to keep creative juices flowing. My schedule is going to be insane however, Mon-Fri class. Fri up at 7 a.m. to get to class, done around noon. Have an hour commute home and an hour commute from home to work, so I will need to find a place local to work/school to sleep for a few hours then go to work from 7 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. I'll work Friday-Sunday. Sunday's shift will end at 7:30 Monday morning and I'll go straight from work to class. I don't think I'll do any studying on Monday if at all possible. I will simply come home and pass out cold. I'm excited though. It's taken forever to get here, and I had a baby in the middle of all of my pre-reqs. He's 4 years old and heading to preschool. Ack! He is also the muse to all my facebook posts. He has his own following, since as soon as I post the word "Xanderism" everyone is there commenting on whatever it is he said this time. I hope I remember to appreciate those moments in the middle of school mayhem. We shall find out.

    Leaving this site

I've decided that I'm going to stop using this site. Basically, it's just another distraction in my life that I don't need. I should be writing and concentrating on school rather than posting things here. Some of you have been awesome, and I appreciate your advice more than I can express. Thank you very much. Some of you, however, have been less than kind, both in reviews and in other discussions. I won't single anyone out, but I think you probably know who you are. I do understand. Some of the stuff I've posted here and elsewhere is meaner than I ever would have expected of myself. Being on these forums seems to bring out the worst in me, I guess because I'm not seeing people face-to-face, and I don't like it at all. I think it's just better if I stop. I'd even delete my account if I could, but I understand that's not possible, so I'm just going to log off for good and not return. So good-bye. Thanks to some of you.

I left WF for a while partly because I was spending a lot more time on here than actually writing, but mostly because I was getting sick of the negativity. It's crazy... this place can be such a great community full of helpful people who will volunteer their time to answer each others questions, but at the same time I would also see such hostility, and from prominent community members.

Anyway, I hope it's better now than it was. We're a community; let's keep it that way.

I just conveniently noticed that there was an actual official goodbye/welcome back thread in the forums, and instead I posted my "hohoho I'm back" in some other thread. Things do really change.

I won't re-rant what I ranted in the other thread, but to make the long story short (brevity is the soul of wit), I've been basically on and off with my writing for the past few years, uncertain about how to proceed just as I was uncertain about my life. Just a few days ago, I finished watching an atrociously well-written and brilliant anime, of all things, that really moved me and reminded me a lot of The Catcher in the Rye, the work of fiction which has had the greatest influence on me as a writer. So now, I figure that as that anime helps give a bit of closure in my life, so too can I try to return to writing. And also return here, too, since this is a real good forum.

It's good to be back. Hopefully, I'll stay this time.

So....Hey, I'm back. I've been on a long hiatus. I'll be here for a while now, looking to hone my editing skills some more. I'll be hanging around the workshop quite a bit, but anyone who wants feedback on anything shoot me a pm.

Hello. :) I miss being around this forum. What I love about it is that it is small enough that people know each other... and everyone is enthusiastic about one another's lives. I guess that's part of being a writer... I don't do forum stuff much anymore, but I joined one other recently, and I just don't know how to get started talking to people there. :p lol.

Anyway, thought I'd pop in and say hello - it's a slow Friday evening in my neck of the woods; I'm preparing for my final exams and writing final papers (like my 25 page Spanish research paper -- I'm not so sure I like writing anymore after this beast ;) ) that will be over exactly two weeks from yesterday... So I'm procrastinating too. Hello! Maybe I'll be online a bit more during the winter break.

Hi Merc! Good luck with the studies! (don't work too hard though :p)

Hello all, also been away for a while. Funny how life worls out like that >_>

Glad to see the forum is still up and running, missed you all. :)
