    Artists, Unite!

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Ion, Mar 15, 2011.

This site is about writers sharing their work with each other.

Writers are artists. This is a fact. So let's share our artwork with each other as well.

    I'll start us off.

These are main characters in the story I'm writing currently.

This is the portrait of the character I'm playing as in my group's RPG.

Leftmost character in the first picture in a different style.

With that out of the way, what do you guys have?

Great work! I draw as well. I don't draw my own characters or anything like like that, but I do love doing portraits. Here are a few of my drawings:

Just some random people. Won an art contest back in high school with this one.

^ I am quite the nerd and love me some Grey's Anatomy.

    A self-portrait I did. That's me. Staring off into space. :p

I'm sure I have more buried in my photobucket account. Most of which are Inuyasha drawings. Did I mention I was a nerd? (I don't watch it anymore. All of the drawings are from middle school. Ha, ha!)

Here's a webcomic I got sidetracked on... again. Been about 10 years at least since I started working on the concept.

You each have a unique gift for talent!
Ion, Stan Lee's illustrating team would be impressed. Awesome!
Smoke, that's so cool... You could quite easily design that for a series.
Baywriter, that's amazing, no wonder why you won art contests! Those portraits are so life-like... Looks like you design from the heart.

Whoa, I'm so impressed with all of your drawings! Hey, I draw a bit too. People are my weakness, though, but I'll have to totally dig them out some time :)

The minirure one? No, I gave a go at adding digital 'paint' to it using photoshop, my first try. ^^ Made a mistake on the resizing though and pixilated it a bit. :( That's why it's small, harder to notice. ^^
    The plant one, yes. ^^

^^ Thankyou, now I don't mean this in any bad way but... that was the first time I had used water colours properly... That means alot for you to say that! ^^
I'm not a massive fan of using them delicatly though, I like to build up layers and metge them into each other to give a good effect. I have a student teacher thats trying to make me be delicate atm... she's so dam patronising... until I showed her some of my work, she backed off a bit ^^
Each to their own style. ^^
Why I'd make alot of use of a white space with a rose I don't know... a deep red rose doesn't have any white in it! Red, purple, brown, green, tints of decayed black... yet she want it gentle and a red rose with white!... Sorry, it's anoying me alot. :p

I dig those power suits. Most of the stuff I draw tends to be scifi.

Power suits own. I wish I could draw that complex sci-fi stuff. For now, I just doodle anime-style people like so:

Sierra, my albino character with the prosthetic hand. I suck with Photoshop.

I draw, too, but I haven't drawn in awhile. I make things with clay!

ha ha it's because they're professionals and they have to teach techniques by the book. Still irritating nonetheless!

I know what you mean about not being delicate, too. I lay a lot of layers on, and so my work isn't like traditional watercolor with only a few layers. Sometimes I think oil might be my true medium. But, yeah, you definitely have a good style.

Here are some of mine. These were for greeting cards, and so I had to have pretty themes.

    This one had multiple layers.

Oh, and this one was for a little brother. . .

I LOVE them :)! The plant/flytrap is really interesting, and I'm a sucker for less humanoid-type mecha after reading Leviathan. The third's style is slightly Ghibli-esque :O. Good work!

You get some excellent rep for this one, Naussicaa is one of best films I have seen. :)

Only the the chin seems a bit off, but overall, its boss.
