I think the problem is you jumped right into the action without giving the characters a chance to mingle. We're 42 posts into this and most of them don't even know one another's names. And the timer didn't help.
After rereading my post I realise I haven''t quite made it clear that he himself is also moving towards that front door, which also happens to be the door that Aaron is still standing behind (with a knife in his foot). I first thought Alexander would try to hack that door, but then I realised that the family probably knows how to open their own front door when their lives depend on it
The front dooris open. It's the one being blocked. And there's a lovely grenade proof safe room behund you, and targeting beacons that link to the person woth the biggest gun, who is not going to blocked by the shield.
Wait, no the one that Alexander busted open was the back door right? Aaron was trying to come in through the front impersonating a guard, which didn't go so hot, so Alexander crashed in through the back. That's what I had in mind anyway. If there is no back door than I'll have to reimagine the scene in my head and I'll rewrite my last post. Also, the reason he didn't go for the safe room is because he doubts he can fit 5 people through a one foot gap in, say, 8 seconds. Of course, if there isn't another door going out he'll definitely save his own skin and hop into the safe room, I just had a slightly different room in mind I guess.
I want to, but I'm kind of distanced from the action. If no one posts anything, I may have Kami fire off a shot or two, at random, and leave it up to you guys where those shots land. Maybe she blows a hole in the wall, allowing you to escape. Maybe she blows away the shield-guys blocking the door. Or maybe she kills you all. Alternatively, someone could actually send her some targeting information. She has cybernetic implants on her eyes; she can hit whatever you target, if you send her the tracking info. That's basically what she was trying to say in my latest post, in her own sarcastic way. Anywho, I'm heading off to work, but if things haven't moved along, I'll post something on my lunch break. EDIT: Oh, shit, I just realized obi-sem's latest post did just that. Damn, when did that part show up?
I edited the post because I'd misunderstood the lay-out of the room, which in this case heavily impacted Alexander's decision. Would have been nice of me to tag you when I did that
At this point, I am tempted to have the group fail the mission, or kill most of them off till the next simulation.
Actually that would be quite cool. Lizzie doesn't mind, she doesn't want to be on this mission anyway. And besides, it will force the group to cooperate better next time and come up with an actual plan instead of "Hey, let's just blow everything up, sounds fun right?"
I wouldn't mind a reset. A loss, or at least a costly win, would give the group something to think/talk about. My only question is, who's still in this? Thus far, it seems like it's just myself, @obi-sem kenobi, @Domino355, and @halisme keeping this RP alive. @Fan7asticMrFox and @gibble410, are you both still interested in continuing? Failing the sim could be an opportunity to shed those who don't have the time to continue; maybe the sim is a test to determine the final team composition and only a few will "make the cut." Or we could pick up new players, if anyone's interested. I still have another character concept I'd like to try out.
I will make a post on Tuesday killing everyone off and moving onto the next trial. If you want me know your still in, post a reply before then.
Yea I'm still interested. Didn't really have much to post about in the combat - but in hindsight I should have at least posted something. I'll try and get something up tomorrow to close out Aaron in this first simulation.
The second trial will probably be a puzzle that I'll let you decide how fast your character solves it. While it's not interactive, it'll be a good way of checking who's still here.
