Follow up to: https://www.writingforums.org/threads/short-story-idea.166996/#post-1880896 and this reddit post: These are a list of loglines for stories that I have been thinking of for a while so far. A medieval sorceress must travel to the 21st century to help prevent world destruction. After obtining a magic wrist watch, a girl must save the world in a school full of people with superpowers. A recruit space bounty hunter and her friend must clear all tasks in order to pay off the damages after accidentilly destroying their headquarters. Two women find themselves in a post-apocalyptic future and must find their way back home. A teenage girl gets trapped in her video game console and must beat the game to escape. Please comment any replies, suggestions, critiques, etc. about any of them if you could.
We need a lot more detail before we can give any meaningful help... all i can say at the minute is that they are very disparate... perhaps you need to decide what sort of story you want to tell first
Also, they're all very generic and have been done many times. It's not the plot that's going to make them different, it's how you write it.
I'd like to hear more about number two, with the magic wrist watch and super powers. Do you have some of the plot figured out?
Each of the examples presents a problem which needs to be solved. This is a good start. How do the characters attempt to solve the problems? How are the problems eventually solved?
you probably need to do some of that before you ask members for help... as it stands you don't have a plot, you just have a vague idea
Work on it. Figure out who your character is, what she's saving the world from, what the watch does, what part the super powers play in the story. Do some brainstorming and come back. I'd like to hear what you come up with.
