Hey everyone. Torana wanted me to post up that she won't be around for a while. I've already spoken to Cogito and discussed a few things, so don't worry poetry comp fans, everything is in hand! As some of you know, Torana and I are expecting our first child together. She unfortunately went into labour yesterday at a mere 23 weeks (which is very, very bad for baby). She was flown to Perth and the labour was stopped, but she went into labour again this morning. Thankfully, this too was stopped. We don't know how long she'll be kept in the hospital. It might be up to 11 weeks. Right now, I'm back at home ready to look after the kids. Torana is at the hospital. She's doing ok and baby is fine. She wanted me to pass this on.
My best wishes to her, you, and the kids. I know this is chaotic, scary, and a dozen other things, but you'll get through it okay. We're all sending gigawatts of positive energy her way!
I'm glad to hear she and the baby are ok! Like Cog said, we're all sending positive energy her way. I hope things go smoothly from here on out!
Wow, that's really scary. Echoing everyone else's sentiments, I'm glad to hear she and the baby are both in good condition, sending positive thoughts your family's way, and hoping that she wont have to spend two months in the hospital. If you can, keep us updated.
My wife is at the same stage in pregnancy, so I can totally empathize with you. You all will be in my prayers. ~JG
My sister is only a week behind Tor. When she was pregnant with her first child, she had a similar thing happen. She was on bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy, but my nephew was born perfectly healthy. With the medical care Tor is getting, I am confident that she and baby will be fine. However, prayers never hurt anyone, so I will be sending them to you, Dan, and to Tor.
My thoughts are with you, I was in the exact same boat this time last year. I'll be praying for all of you, and stay positive!! Hope all goes smoothly.
Tell Torana I hope everything turns out alright. My little sis was born 11 weeks premature and she was tiny, but she pulled through and now she's an annoying little four year old.
Best wishes to Torana and the baby. I hope everything turns out all right. I'm sure it will, with modern medicine being like it is.
Update. Torana is fine and thankfully the labour hasn't returned and its been about 36 hours since the last one now. Unfortunately, they are keeping her in for 'some time'. Anyone's guess how long that is, but we're thinking several weeks. It's going to be tough for all involved, but at least she's in the right place. I'm taking the kids up there to visit on Saturday, and I intend to print out this thread to take to her, so thank you for all the kind messages and happy thoughts!
I'm so glad they were able to stabilize the situation. Obviously they won't want to risk it coming on again, so it's probably a good thing they will make her take it slow getting back on her feet. Hopefully she'll be allowed at least some up-and-about time, but the important think is to keep her and Li'l Pome safe. Just make sure she has plenty of pens and notebooks handy, for her sanity and that of anyone who needs to be around her.
I'm glad to hear things are going well. And like Cog said, Tor is strong, so I'm sure they will continue to go well. My thoughts are with you guys! Just let me know if you're in need of casseroles for dinner, and I'll send some over. That's what the people my parents go to church with did when my mom was in the hospital during one of her pregnancies.
Just to echo the sentiments of the previous posters- I'm sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers from Scotland (not sure how long they will take to reach Australia, but they're on their way ).
