The Perfect Sunday Morning Cooked Breakfast.

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by The Bard of Wigan, Mar 13, 2009.

So the weekend is nearly upon us. For some of you, depending where you live it is nearer than others.

    Now I'm a man of habit. Because of this I'm a tad predictable. So every Sunday morning I have the same breakfast I have had for donkeys years. Which is as follows;

3 rashers of unsmoked bacon - fried
    3 Lincolnshire sausages - grilled
1 free range egg - fried
1 large tomatoe - halved and cut jaggedly & fried
Beans - lightly warmed in the pan
2 slices of black pudding - fried
    2 rounds of toast
    1 slice of fired bread
    1 large mushroom - fried
1 large mug of tea with 3 sugars.

    Perfect!! ;)

    That certainly is a meal!

I have 3 eggs, a rasher of bacon, two mushrooms, a tomato and just heap it on a couple of pieces of toast. But im going off that at the moment, porridge is all the rage for me now. Everyday.

If I cook breakfast on Sunday (no one in my house is huge on breakfast). I usually make eggs, usually scrambled, pancakes with syrup, sausage or bacon, and usually a couple slices of apple. :)

I have almost the same breakfast except no black pudding/fired bread.

Great start to the day. (On sundays)

It's very rare for me to cook in the morning. If I do, it's usually something pretty simple like an omelette, pancakes or a toasted sandwich, but I generally prefer fresh fruit. An ideal breakfast to me is a fresh fruit salad, with some vanilla yoghurt and sometimes nuts sprinkled over the top.

(Unless you count the occasional post-midnight impulse to cook - then it's all baked potatoes with sour cream, bacon, cheese, onion and garlic :p).

I don't have a single Sunday morning breakfast. More often than not, I grab a quick bowl of cold cereal with milk, and a class of juice.

But if I'm in the mood for a serious breakfast, te first one I usually think of is Eggs Benedict - a split English muffin, toasted, with each half topped with a slice of Canadiam bacon, a poached egg, and topped with lemony Hollandaise sauce.

Sunday mornings my family gets together at Country Waffles for brunch. I get a bagel (no cream cheese), a side of cottage cheese, and a bowl of fruit. Then it is tea to wash it all down. My husband always order New York steak and eggs with fried mushroom and onions, scrambled eggs, and fried potatoes with a Coke to wash it all down. Who do you think will live longer and have better health?

Sunday mornings I usually spend in bed with matt,

then I get him coffee and toast (I have tea) and we cuddle in our PJ's, usually with our noses in a book.

but yeah, i dont think either of us can eat that much right after getting up lol

Which is why I never have breakfast, regardless of the day. Which is a pity, because I really like (and also have a mutual hate for) breakfast foods, so more often than not, I'll toast some cinammon toast for dinner, or if I'm feeling up to braving the stove top, I'll make french toast.

Now you've got my salivating. :D

I just started a new job where I have to work Sunday mornings (boo!), but back when I had my beautiful Sundays off, my fiance made either waffles (with sliced strawberries on them!) or stuffed French toast. Soooo good! Man, I miss Sunday breakfasts... :(

Because I sleep until well after noon, I'm not much of a breakfast person...

    however

every Mother's Day I force myself to get up early to cook my mum breakfast in bed..

    Mother's Day Breakfast includes;

fried bacon, scrambled eggs, fried tomatoes, small roasted potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, sausages, oven-cooked fish, toast and tea to wash it all down..

takes me about two hours to cook all together, so I'm just happy it's a special occasion thing..

    hahahaha.

That all sounds delcious! I've never heard of many of those things--especially eaten for breakfast. We usually just have waffles or french toast with bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns and fruit.

I want to have breakfast in England now. :)

    I never had waffles :(

Sunday morning, normally-off exam season-it used to be french toast and sauce/chilie, but during exams I can't study without eating stuffed paranthas(yum!)..I know it's not good to have oily stuff during the exams, but who cares?

I don't have a breakfast on Sunday morning; I'm kind of nocturnal, so I would be having dinner :D probably something bland, at that: tea and Vegemite on toast, or something similar. Or maybe I would actually bother to have a "proper" dinner: salad, cooked meat, vegetables and the like. Buuuut... that takes time. So I'll stick with the toast :).

Oh dear! You'll have the diet-police crashing through your door any minute! :D
Apart from the egg I used to enjoy all of that and still do if I'm on the overnight ferry to Britain, say. I don't need another thing until much later... in Ireland they cram most of that, plus white pudding, into a huge baguette and call it a breakfast roll. Yes, even egg and beans. Not to be eaten whilst driving unless you want to arrive well spattered with more of it on the outside than inside, though! :D

STOP IT! You're making me hungry!

My Sunday morning usually consists of:
    1 Bowl of Cereal
    2 Pieces of Toast
    2 Sausage Sandwiches

This is mainly because I woke up about ten minutes ago. 11:50 am.
Breakfast and Lunch come at the same time.

    :D I love Sundays. :D

This Sunday morning I was in the mood for Eggs Florentine - individual custrad cups with a layer of buttered cooked chopped spinach, then shredded parmesan, an egg, topped with a tablespoon of cream and more shredded Parmesan, sprinkled with sweet paprika. Bake at 350F for about 20 minutes, until the white is cooked through and the yolk is creamy.

I had crumpets topped with homemade wild grape jelly on the side.

I have never gotten into tomatoes and beans with breakfast. But, I did have some fabulous breakfasts when I was visiting England. Now...other than Sunday brunch with the family...I just have slimfast. If I don't watch my figure...no one else will.

Apart from the beans and mushroom almost alll of those I would love for a big morning breakfast. For me I would have to have eggs, turkey sausage, a billion bisuits with grape or strawberry jelly, french toast, oh god, that French Toast, hash browns, and cheesy grits. That's a breakfast!
