I'm in the process of picking agents to submit my novel to, and one in particular sounds absolutely ideal from multiple perspectives. I want to give my manuscript the absolute best chance of getting to her desk (i.e. not being filtered out by the readers for failure to follow criteria), but I'm stuck on the synopsis length. Most agency guidelines state one page or two for the synopsis, but this agency just says 'a short synopsis'. So which do I send, the one page version or the two page version? Or do I call them up and ask? (I know I'm probably massively overthinking this and that in all likelihood I'll be rejected for some other reason entirely, but given how persnickety the whole process is, I can't help but obsess over details like this.)
Great post about that by @hyacinthe here: https://www.writingforums.org/threads/shotgun-approach.169324/#post-1911028 That "max 500 words" seems about right to me. I'd also rather have a root canal than have to write that.
