Yes, and AI isn't even remotely comparable to a talented Voice Actor. Why in the world would you want a software driven voice to narrate your story? Here's a link to an unedited chapter I had an English actress do a reading on. I was curious to find out if the dialogue and whatnot was working. It's a one-off reading with flubs and all, but even so, it turned out rather well. There's nothing can match the warmth of a storyteller's voice.
No. Nope! Unless you're writing about the uprise of the machines from the machines point of view, don't even think about it. Even a good AI voice will be uncomfortable and/or annoying to listen to. If it's a short story of previously mentioned scenario, then I'd say go ahead. Otherwise, don't.
I asked Alexa to read me a Kindle book the other day. It was a Robert Sheckley short story about robots, so it was hilariously meta for about thirty seconds. After that wore off, it was just intolerably annoying... like almost everything she does. (Please don't tell her I said that though. She has all sorts of dirt on me. Yikes!)
