    "Hello," she said.

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Telturwen, Mar 27, 2017.

Hi there. I'm really glad I found this forum and I'm hoping I can be an active member here. Unfortunately, I tend to wade in and out of things frequently, but I'm determined to put my writing first - as of this moment. Well, hopefully it lasts.

I'm really bad at intros, but I will do my best. Here are some fun facts about me:

I love to read anything to do with fantasy. I have (the beginnings of) a J.R.R. Tolkien book collection. I enjoy writing poetry, fan fiction, and novel-length stories. I've been writing a novel for roughly ten years, and am just now getting it edited. I've recently become interested in horror fiction à la Thomas Ligotti, as he is my boyfriend's favorite author. I plan on reading a lot more than I actually do, and when I get a chance to read I always seem to re-read my favorites anyway. I majored in English and have no idea what I'll do with the degree.

Well, that seems like a good start. So, hello! Happy to be here.

Welcome! Don't worry about your intro, it's great. I'm also curious about the book you've been writing for ten years. I assume it's a project you hold very dear? It must be exciting to start editing such a long project. I wish you the best of luck!

    Thank you!

Well, the book I've been writing has really grown up with me, meaning it's gotten more adult as I've become an adult. So it started off as something completely different than it is now. It's kind of cool how it progressed. Thanks for the luck! I'm likely to really need it.

Great intro indeed. I am a Tolkien fan through and through. It was the first real series I ever read and it sticks with me. Also... that 10 yr work is exciting to think of. How entangled much of your thoughts must be within it. Welcome to the forum. Fellow noob here... just getting acquainted with things. Cheers and Godspeed!
