    Adjourned? Concluded?

I'm a big fan of thesaurus.com. i've fallen down many a rabbit hole clicking on various synonyms and then exploring those synonyms.

it sounds less lame in my head.

I wanted "adjourned!" Apparently it means only temporarily suspended, rather than actually finished. Can I still use it? Thanks.

    And any others? Thanks.

I would say yes, personally. If someone is splitting hairs that hardcore over word usage they probably aren't your target audience, plus your meaning is clear.

His target audience is the HR department...boy, do they ever split hairs ("I am the guardian of the rule-book" - actual quote!)

The word "ceased" is nice and really cool. I like the way it rolls off my tongue.

Or even "I called a meeting which settled.." surely the fact that its business is self evident

actually pretty much you could say "I settled..."

"I settled the long running dispute with the bigbag company over our supply of fluffwiffles" ... its not really necessary to say that you did so by calling a meeting
