    If you were a hero?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Mantha Hendrix, May 25, 2010.

There's as much variation in heroes as villains.

    From Ozymandias of Watchmen.

    Yagami Light of Death note.

Or a good old fashioned Indiana Jones.

The line between good and evil is hazy. If you even believe there is a line.

I find it most interesting when the line IS fuzzy. Like Andrew Wiggins, who saved the human race, but by committing a trrible act of genocide.

I agree it makes it seem more gritty and realistic.

Same as on the other thread. What sort of hero would you be?

If I could, then I would save the world from certain destruction, such as from a giant asteroid or somesuch. Otherwise, you guys can sort out your own problems. I care more about the natural world than the civilized world, so that's all I'd be trying to save anyway.

Oooh! Yeah! But if I did, everyone would call me a villain. Just because I decided no people = no wars...

I'd get the job done... no matter what the cost. If it meant the survival of my own race, I'd destroy another, and it is fair game if they are able to destroy me. ;)

I would be the scrappy hero that doesn't even mean to get into trouble to begin with but because of horrible luck, I do and by some incrdible means, I just barely save the world and probably suffer many personal losses because of it.

    tl;dr
    I'd be Harry Dresden.

I would use my powers for the single most important purpose in the universe: preventing Montreal from ever winning another Stanley Cup.

    Basically, I'd be Mike Richards.

I would be a vigilante, like Batman...only cooler. If that is even possible.

I'd be an antihero like Deadpool, technically when you have a 'super hero' who stands on a blurred line between good and evil, they're considered an anti hero.

I couldn't be a hero. I'd be like the person who cleans the hero's shoes.

Maybe I would just be someone who'd try to keep everyone happy. Something like that.

I'd be like Dexter, only less of a goody two-shoes.

I would build a titanic pyramid in the middle of the desert overnight in which to live. It would be my stronghold and would itself be superheroicly strong and impregnable. It would make those who decorate their shoulders with pretty stars sweat.

I would like that very much.

    Yes. Yes, I would.

Oh, and I would get Tom Ford to decorate the interior. And he could also stay if he wanted. ;)

I always think my life will be pointless. So, if I were to die I would have to do it to save someone else.

Somehow that's the way it seems best to me.

Haha, I like this, you beat me to it though!

Anyhow, I probably would be the wanderer, if that makes any sense.

The sort of guy who just seems to appear out of nowhere and just save the day, I definitely wouldn't be the main character, I would be more of the guy who saves his/her ass in the middle of a fight that they can't possibly hope to win, and teach them something before making my way.

The kind of hero who "dabbles" in everything, knowing how to play the mandolin, how to sword fight, stick fight, command, lead, just about anything. And of course, I would have a pet dog that seems to be more important to me than anything else.

That is the kind of hero I would be XD

    Han Solo?

I would like to be a hero who is very perceptive and logical, and who will have to put his emotions aside for the greater good. However, if this is based on my real-life personality, I would be a hero who is virtuous, almost to a fault. Maybe like an Obi Wan character, except no one listens to my wisdom.

One of my favourite lines from Pulp Fiction is when Jules, following what he believes to be a sign from God, announces his intention to quit being a hit man.

'I'm just gonna walk the earth, you know, like Kane in Kung Fu, getting into adventures and ****'.

This pretty much sums it up for me!

I would say that Light is more of a Villain Protagonist than a hero.

    I prefer snarky, fourth-wall breaking antiheroes :p

Yes... but you couldn't call him a villain. He's an anti-hero. He believes he's doing the right thing, and arguably he is.

I'd be a vigilante. I'd probably wear a trench coat and carry a LOT of weapons. Also hair stick knives are a must.
