Anyone Remember V

Anyone Remember V I just bought myself the boxset of the tv series. and wow old is one word. and the acting is so stale its appalling. lol And this just proves Marc Singer should never have been given a job in acting.

But yet it was so good back then I loved watching V at night. Of course V The Final battle was the better of the series. But still a good viewing. Its worth it to see Robert Englund as a lizard.

 

V was AWEsome!

 

Yeah, I have the first season miniseried on DVD too. It's not great, too heavy handed and everything is way too shiny, but it's certainly better than a lot of other SF shows of that vintage.

 

That's 'cause it was early 80's with a lot of left-over 70's. But, taken in context, I loved it.

 

Yes it was a worthy Early edition of the 80s sci fi. I always liked Ham Tylers charactor. When he left towards the end of the series it becamse a bit flat.

 

I just want to make you guys feel old now. That show was cancelled just a year before I was born.

 

Yeah, I guess there are certain areas of the southern U.S. where I coulda' been yer' dad.

Yeah but that said I had the beauty of growing up in the 80s and what a decade.

 

Spot on! Wouldn't trade it for the world. I got to see, and participate in, the birth of Punk, Goth, and New Wave!! That was priceless.

 

Yeah, the 90's kind of sucked. Even the name's lame. The 80's also got two of the star wars films.

 

Oh yes I wouldn't trade the 80s for any other decade. Only in the 80s was it special.

 

I remember watching V.
I kind of liked it but it wasn't a show to write home about.
Thought I was really with it watching sci fi.
Could turn it on and not have to worry too much about small
children watching it and getting night mares.

 

And arguably, the best of the Alien® movies. Although, I really wanted it to be Vasquez who survived, not Hicks.

 

Aliens was awesome and only in the 80s did that shock value work. I loved this movie.

 

When Vasquez lets loose with that crazy, shoulder-slung weapon and screams out, "Lets rock!" Gives me goosebumps everytime.

*Are we noticing a trend here for Wrey? Kara Thrace... Vasquez....

 

I named my cat after one of the characters from V ....... Willy. Nobody would ever call him in from the garden though.

And early rendition. Aliens I think has to be one of the best movies to come from the 80s fullstop.

V however the first mini series rocked and the three part Final battle series also rocked but I felt the 19 episode flopping tv series really lacked on the acting values and why did their voice become human normal in the series. remember the voice distortion. they even had to wear tags around their necks to mimic the Visitors Voices. And then the tv series started and all was forgotten. lol

But the classic line in the very first episode.

"No not like that. You do a V... V for victory."
