A high school classmate of mine is doing time for statutory rape. Illinois has one state penitentiary (Big Muddy) with a whole wing reserved for sex offenders. Apparently there's some form of psychological counseling / treatment that goes on for inmates in that block as well.
At the county level, all of our inmates with sexually-related crimes are housed in one pod, which can hold up to 48 inmates. The more violent or non compliant people with these crimes are housed in one "run" on what we call South Side. Imagine your stereotypical jail from TV with the long hallway with individual barred cells on each side and that's pretty much it.
