    AVP-R Opens Christmas Day

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Cogito, Dec 18, 2007.

A couple years ago, one of those awful Monster1 Meets Monster2 movies arrived in theaters. It was called Alien vs. Predator, and surprise! It wasn't so awful after all.

Well, they're back! On Christmas Day, in the States at least, AVP-R will open in the theaters. AVP-R stands for Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem. But where AVP took place in an isolated pyramid deep beneath the arctic ice, AVP-R looses the hunters and their serprent prey out in the exposed ecosystem of our planet.

Let no serpent survive to lay its lethal eggs!

While I'm a die-hard Predator fan I still have the Alien Quadrilogy.

Lance Henriksen made me laugh with his stereotypical character in AVP.

I just want to see what they do with the hybrid Alien/Predator creation in this movie. It's certainly a lot more violent, which is for the best, and the location is absolutely perfect.

Just remember for those who do watch it. Not every country gets movies out at the same time so please if yyou give anything away about the movie after watching it to use the spoiler tags. Otherwise it isn't fair on others. Thank you kindly.

But I am definately looking forward to seeing it. I wonder if the video shops here have heard of it yet lol

This is one I definitely want to see on the big screen, with surround sound - although if it comes out in IMAX... :D

It has to be better than the first one. That was appalling.

Though I'll admit the trailer looks good. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It comes out Boxing Day here for us. But I'm going to see No Country For Old Men before anything else. I expect that movie to blow me away with its brilliance.

Well I just got back from No Country for Old Men, ILTBY.

It was extremely well made and the actors were exceptional beyond belief. Runtime felt like forever despite it being 2 hours. But seriously, go see it sometime. If all movies were made in the same way the world would be a better place. :)

I found chunks of my hair in my hands in the middle of AvP. That movie was truly abysmal.

I Am Legend was good, unless you've read the book.

Is it one of those unfaithful book to movie types?

    Oh, yeah.

Although, I don't care too much if the adaptation is stilly really good. I Am Legend was very good up until the rushed ending. At least I found myself enjoying it... a lot.
