Hello Community, I am very new to the whole thing. I wrote poetry before, in a different language, and won a couple of awards when I was a teen. This is my first attempt in English, and this time to write a novel. I am using a Nom de Plume, my topics might be racy, at least to where I am from (Middle East), but I am going to write anyway. My novel starts with a character, a lovely one, and she is Syrian. She came to the U.S on a refugee visa. I was hoping to post my first chapter in the appropriate section, but I guess I do not have enough privileges. (I have posted the first chapter on my blog) I am very glad to join the forum. Hi Samra, Welcome to the forum. It's always fun to meet other writers whose first language isn't English. Here's our New Member Quick Start to get you started. Check out the bit about the workshop. That's where you want to post an excerpt of your story, but before that, you need to meet a few requirements: You must be registered for 14 days You must make 20 posts forum-wide You must post 2 constructive reviews for each piece of writing you post I hope this clarifies. -Kat
