Joining the hype club to see who wrote what.
Now that we've had the first contest, if anybody has feedback or suggestions please let me know. PM if you don't want to do it publicly
Well, voting is going to be easy this time round!
A few more in there now.
President West seems so much less like fiction now than when the prompt was suggested
I know right?! A little unfortunate but at the time it seemed such a funny prompt...
All quiet on the short-story front for the first two weeks then a diluge of entries coming all at once at the final moment . Might be the case again...
Aye. I would recommend authors use all of the time, because it's so helpful to let a story rest and then read it with fresh eyes. I'm excited about the prompts this month!
Out of curiosity, has anyone ever posted to Workshop to get help, then posted the same thing to contest?
I would have thought the other way round would make more sense as workshop first removes the anonymity
or you can just procrastinate for ages and write the whole story in a rush the day before the deadline .... not that anyone ever does that of course
I guess another way to ask this is..
Has anyone ever asked the communities help in polishing a story, then submitted that story to a contest?
I figured at some point someone would have, then complained they didn't win when 'everyone said it was great!', or something.
As i said i don't see how you can - removing your anonymity is a rule break and would get your story disqualified - so entering something where everyone already knows who wrote it would be a nonstarter
Forming a writing group would probably be your best bet. Have a private Facebook page and gather 3 to 4 people into it. Viola!
