I need some tech help. I downloaded some virus software earlier today, and despite opting out of all the 'extras' and other crap bundled with the software, it installed them anyway and changed my whole desktop theme. Anyway, after hours of faffing around in the personalisation settings I got it back to something like I had before, but I've now noticed when I select a body of text on this and some other websites (although not all), the highlight colour is the same as the background (in the case of here, white), essentially rendering it invisible and meaning I don't know what text I've selected. Do any dinosaurs still using Windows 7 like me happen to know what I need to change in the personalisation settings to get a contrasting colour?
Well I've had to do several restarts today while trying to fix other issues, and I'm sure at least one of them must have happened after I'd made the changes. It is highlighting the text, as I've proved by right clicking and doing a copy/paste, it's just that the highlight doesn't show so I have to just carefully watch where I start and end with my cursor when selecting.
No, that I didn't try, mainly because it takes me so long to get it back to how I have it. I'll give it a go.
Well that's a little better. It now uses a black for the highlight colour but keeps the text black too. So I can now see the highlight but not the text within it.
Could be. I'm using 'themes' for both desktop and browser. It's of little importance right now anyway, as it seems my email account has been breached and I can't log in. No more amazon Prime orders until that's sorted out cos I won't be able to retrieve my locker code
