It was from my hotmail account, and it happened immediately after I sent them my query.

It hasn't happened before, and it hasn't happened since. I won't try again though, fool me once...

I was totally surprised, because, yes, they are a VERY reputable agency. They represent the big boys.

i wouldn't blame the site... it's more likely it was a coincidence...

anyway, you can contact maass directly, ask him if anyone else has laid the problem at his site's door... his email address is on the site...

That would entail sending another e-mail. No thanks, lol.

Sending emails won't give you viruses;) You probably got it from somewhere else. Maybe an email you opened before or after sending the query?

It is probably incorrect terminology to say that I got a virus. What happened though, was that my hotmail contact list was read, and every person in the list was sent an e-mail.

-I get it, everyone thinks I'm the boy who cried wolf, a fact which I find mildly amusing. But I know what happened, and when it happened. It wasn't a coincidence, and it wasn't from something else.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine. It turns out that the culprit was indeed a virus, and he found a solution to the problem only after doing a search for it.

It's very probable that you allready had the virus on your computer, and when you logged onto your email the virus copied your mail and password. This, of course, grants the virus access to your email account whenever it wants, and it can thus send mail to all of your contacts. I can say that you never, ever, get your contact list scanned when you send an email. It just doesn't work that way.

This has gone way off topic.
