Blue is the warmest colour - new movie out

Discussion in 'Erotica' started by erebh, Nov 1, 2013.

I thought we had a general chat forum but I can't seem to find it so I'll put this here - apologies if it's right under my nose and this needs to be switched...

Has anyone seen this film yet? Apparently it's the most erotic film ever without going into porn and while it started in a few small specialist cinemas (something like 10 in the whole US) it is now reaching into mainstream picture houses. It just won the Palme D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and Stephen Spielberg said it's a "story of deep love and deep heartbreak," which he said left him and his fellow jurors "spellbound."

Anyone know where to find out if it's coming to a cinema near me?

PS there' a quite erotic trailer attached to the link.

Dob't know where you can catch this, sorry. Thought for a second that the gal on the right of the picture on the link was Lizzie Brocheré, who just looooooves doing almost-porn films. It's not her though.

I've seen some very good films that take Erotica in different directions. One of my favorites is Shortbus. This films takes a much more lighthearted track because it focuses on our sexual hangups and crazy expectations fed to us about sex by media and culture in general.

EDIT ~ I just noticed it's #18 on the list of films in that link. ;)

@erebh Ta for drawing attention to it. I checked out the trailer and it looks promising.

I got round to watching this a couple of weeks back. I really enjoyed it. While it was making a point, it didn't take itself too seriously.
