Agents Blurb-Style Cover-Teaser or Plain Vanilla Synopsis?

Discussion in 'Publishing' started by Johnny_Westerner, Feb 19, 2015.

Just a quick question about submitting to agents:

Some agents specify they don't want a blurb-style synopsis, rather that they want something more like a factual summary of the plot. If an agent doesn't specify how they want it then what should be used by default, a catchy blurb or a basic nuts-and-bolts outline of the story?

I'm referring to UK agents here, if there's any difference from one country to another.

    Thanks for any feedback.

I thought that the factual summary was always what was wanted. Not that it shouldn't be catchy and engaging, but I didn't think that a teaser was ever appropriate.
