I know that purple prose is when the writing is exceptionally fancy. And I've heard of beige prose as when the writing has the blandest words possible. What is it called when a character speaks so badly that their true level of articulation can't be used because it would make their dialogue painful to read? (For instance, I say bout and cause when I mean about and because.) What is it called when everyone else also has elevated dialogue to provide a contrast, but they aren't speaking in purple?
