How old is too old to believe in The Three Little Pigs? Four? Five? I've got a 5-year old character, and right now I've got a part where she believes its a true story, and I think that's reasonable, but I may cut it. Thoughts?
I'd say it depends on the environment. Someone could believe in it all the way up 'till death if given the proper circumstance. How self-aware is this five year? Questioning? Is the fairy tale being supported as true by other authority figures? Is the five-year strangely attached to the story for some reason? And so forth.
My 6-year-old still asks the bears at the zoo if Goldilocks ate all the porridge this morning (and he's being serious). So it really depends on the kid.
I believed in Santa 'till 10; it's reliant largely on trust, since a youngin' can't quite deliberate very intelligently on average.
According to me it depends upon the situation or person and also the environment, how anyone's mind reacts on particular thing is matters.
