sooooo, i'm thinking about buying a car.... toyota corolla 2010, approx $17.5K total (including taxes, etc)

i'm not sure... (i have been car shopping for 9 months though)

no runners up. i really wanted to buy a decent used car, but they want to sell me 2008s for the same price as a brand new one...

because i'm not sure how long i'll have a job. and if i can't get a job if i lose this one, then i'll have to leave the country again. and who wants to pay for a car they can't use?

 

Can I ask what kind of job you have?

 

haha i'm a contract employee with the navy. meaning, while i might get another contract for another year, there's no guarantee .... *whispers* i'm responsible for moving significantly large loads of money and i get paid like a simple receptionist (probably less).... i really should be getting paid more. especially because i routinely have to make calls to people who are considered my bosses and tell them how to do their job....

 

Buy the car. In my experience those worst case scenarios never actually come to pass. Enjoy the car. Stop worrying. These things always tend to work out.

One last story to make my point.

I was a per diem sub. The high school I worked at called me on a day to day basis. I got engaged and was terrified because there was no guarantee they'd call me the next day. What business did I have getting married. Two months later - they put me on full time.

I pride myself on my excellent catching up abilities.

And they are cool. Honestly, I could probably still fit into them...I've lost weight, so I'm not like thirty pounds heavier like I used to be.

I am watching UFC 100 right now, and it's pretty awesome, I have to say.

 

I have to catch up. LOL feeling old, I remember when all the buzz in the martial arts community started about who would win the UFC and what styles would do best.

 

I didn't get into it until 2007, so I haven't been following it for very long, but I love it. And usually it's just me and Joel, maybe my sister and her fiance, watching the fights, but tonight we have a big group over here, so it's fun.

And I'm still on WF...addicted a little bit, I guess.

 

I have been on (barring 2 one hour breaks) all day today. I did get some work done but still.

Yeah this place can be a wee bit addicting. Wait ... Lesnar isn't he the guy with short cropped hair tha looks like a bull onsteroids?

 

Yeah, I've been on all day with the exception of when I went to finish my registry.

And yes, that's Lesnar. The last time he fought Mir, Mir submitted him. I'm hoping for a replay of that fight.
