I'm writing a story about assasins(Spelling, sorry) and I was wondering when they thrived, and when they were started and defeated. If anyone knows, thanks!

 

Are you writing about a particular organization or person? Assassins have always existed throughout history, especially when they aren't mentioned at all because that's usually when they were the most sucessful at not being discovered.

 

Sorry, I mean the ones in Rome...I think there were ones in Rome, right?

 

You need to specify that in the OP. Because... well you can go back as far as you want in human history and you will find an Assassin somewhere.

Yes they had assassins in Rome. Julius Ceaser was assassinated by a group of Senators led by Marcus Junius Brutus. They hoped by killing Ceaser they would restore Rome to what it was.

I hope you don't mean Assassin's Creed Assassins. Those "existed", but never operated much in Rome to my knowledge, and certainly weren't as glamorous as they're portrayed in the games.

For other assassin groups, what year? I know a few weapons normally used by certain assassins in certain regions, but this is not very specific.

Which assassins? The Hashishin? If you exchanged "assassins" with "soldiers" or something similar, your OP would be no less vague. Narrow it down a bit plz.
