Two spaceships are battling each other in a nebula/asteroid field, one of them (the good guys) hopelessly outmatched by the other (the bad guys). The bad guys have super special awesome superweapon that takes five minutes to charge up and has ONE FATAL FLAW that ONLY the good guys can hope to exploit. Exploiting this BLOWS UP THE WHOLE SHIP. 'cause this is how military design works, isn't it?
