Need hellp with a gift idea

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Torana, Dec 30, 2007.

Ok I need some help here everyone.

I need to buy a gift for a male friend of mine. I don't know him very well at all and I have absolutely no idea what to get for him.

I thought about a CD but I've no idea what kind of music he is into. So I'm rather stuck here. I'm not good at buying gifts for people I don't really know and the males I do know I always buy tools and fishing gear for.

The big problem is that I have to post the present for this guy so it can't be too big at all.

I'm really stuck so can anyone think of anything think of anything I can get him that is smallish and obviously not a CD....

    Thanks in advance

    Torana

A tie? I don't know the kind of trends in Australia, but a tie is small...cufflings?

[I have no idea what the prices are, just throwing ideas - in fact bombing ideas ;)]

I don't think that he is a tie or cufflings type of guy :( I am really stuck here for ideas. I thought of a watch but I am pretty sure he already has one.....

He is 25 years old. Sorry I should have mentioned that one. He already has a PDA and a Ipod. I thought of those already and nope he has them.

He has very little hair and already has sunnies, I was going to buy him a pair but no he has them too....

Now you can see where my problem is. I need to think of something really random and unusual I think. Just that is not the easiest of things to do! :(

25, eh? A perfume, maybe? A miniature shouldn't be that expensive, I think.
A hat? A hockey set? A golf set? A baseball set? A cricket set? A belt? A bandana? [Bombing ideas...as before]

Does he have a case for said iPod? I've been meaning to get one for some time now. Of course, you'll need to know which one he has (shouldn't all that difficult).

Give him your whip. Any friend of yours should like it.

On a more serious note (not that much), I think adamant's idea is good.

You could get him an interesting key chain. I got a friend of mine who has everything he needs (except a bike) and downloads everything else, a key chain that was actually a small usable pair of pliers. He liked it.

Edit: should have read your last post more closely. Suffice it to say I agree, key chains are good easy presents.

Torana, if he is the typical male you wouldn't have gotten anything constructive anyway.
I have been married for 31 years and the few times I have been told a couple of really good suggestions for gifts. The idiot goes out and buys it himself.
So ask friends and other males and you will get some good ideas.

My advice then is buy him a book. Something on the genre he likes.
    Or buy him aftershave.
