Hello to all you lovely people! I'm a 23 year old student and part time library assistant. A year and a half ago I was sitting in a shoebox room on the other side of the world, skyping my boyfriend when I had something of an epiphany. I said "I think I wanna try my hand at writing". Since then its been a pretty up and down, crazy 18 months. Theres been countless torn up manuscripts, a few angsty moments, weird and wacky story ideas that come into my head at two in the morning (and then proceed to keep me awake for the next five hours ) and of course plenty of those wonderful moments where your head just spills onto the page and your fingers are flying to catch up. My greatest weakness is my inability, so far to finish a single piece of work I've started. And of course, being new to writing, I'm still in the process of developing my own voice and working out how to approach material and develop my ideas. My hope is that being in this community can really help me to go that extra mile each time and start to build a body of work I'm proud of (I'm focusing on short stories at the moment, but would love to write a novel, or maybe a screenplay later down the line). So yeah, thanks for reading and I'm so excited to be here, can't wait to get to know each and every one of you. Love from down under.
