Although it has fallen out of favor, I can fully appreciate head-hopping in fiction. I'm currently reading an oldish fantasy book and the author's use of well-timed "hopping" has made me smile more than once.
I'm disappointed nobody made the correct response here, which of course is "No, no no no he's outside, looking in." Oldies like me or fans of classic Moody Blues will get the reference.
It took me ages to learn that all the older music I really liked was lumped into one genre. Prog4evah I guess.
My toxic trait is that i make coffee and tea.... And then forget about them until they are cold. Then get mad because they are cold....
I do that, too, but I just put it/them in the microwave and resume. It may offend a purist, but the taste isn't much affected if at all, and anyway I drink coffee or tea as a background activity, and rarely use any sort of artisan brand.
Don't you worry about the cans exploding? I actually rarely drink coffee, never really got the taste for it but when I do it's almost always canned or bottled from a vending machine. And yes, it comes either hot or cold, if you notice the bottom right row has a blue background indicating that those drinks (Dekavita C, a vitamin C beverage) are cold.
Hah! I do that as well. I sometimes microwave it, sometimes drink it cold, sometimes leave it for the next day and then don't have to brew fresh. Coffee keeps well as long as it's not kept hot.

What always gets me is when I boil up some water and then frantically go looking for my coffee cup. It always takes a while before I do the forehead slap and realize it's in place under the coffee-maker, with yesterday's coffee in it. I created my own weird setup to avoid letting the plastic coils in the coffee-maker come into contact with the water—I just use the Mr. Coffee as a stand to hold a steel funnel (the part that holds the paper filter) so there's nothing but steel the water comes in contact with (and paper), hence less plastic toxins leeching into my body. I sat down today determined to write or rewrite, get something done. But first I had to stop by here, then I went briefly to Amazon where I discovered Prime had a "Best of Laurel and Hardy" presentation, and I thought maybe I could use a bit of old-fashioned humor in honor of my father who loved those guys, then decided I had come here and confess all this, then discovered my tea was cold so now I have to go upstairs and heat it in the microwave. Then maybe I'll write something. But it's getting close to lunch time.
Maybe I should worry about plastic toxins, but since I survived the days of foot X-ray machines in department stores (no one thought to wear lead shields) playing with beads of mercury on my desk in elementary school and having a home chemistry set with real and potentially lethal chemicals, I think I am either impervious to such things or so far gone a little more plastic won't matter.
I've never read Lord of the Rings. I love, love the Hobbit. I've read it a few times. The first time was back in high school. Everything about it was wonderful. I loved the razor sharp sword and the ring of invisibility and all the treasure. Everything. And so I picked up this other book which also had hobbits in it, and though Bilbo was in it, it was mainly about this other hobbit, Frodo. I felt vaguely cheated. It was as if I had a loyalty to Bilbo. I stuck with the book, and by the time they got to the Mines, it was awesome, and I had that same Hobbity feeling, but then, spoilers, spoilers Spoiler: THE MOTHER OF ALL SPOILERS! Gandalf dies. I was so dejected that I could not go on, and to this day I haven't read those books. I'm making a list of books I'm about to read, and I have put Lord of the Rings on it. So all this will change soon. Did you know they made a movie out of these?
And 10 year old, precocious me was like: Spoiler He's not dead. They had him fall into darkness just so they could bring him back later.
