I once a indulged in a form of negative thinking.

I owned an older house that needed a lot of repairs, and lived in tornado alley. I thought it would be nice if a tornado blew the house down and I could collect the insurance. In fact I wished that would happen. But I was convinced I would never get what I wished for, so whenever there was a tornado warning, sirens blaring and all that, I stayed comfortably upstairs, knowing no tornado would strike the house because that would mean I got my wish, and I never got my wishes, so . . . ..

It must have worked, because a few years later we sold the house and moved on with our lives.

I have very little use for Ryans Phillipe, Reynolds, or Gosling and indeed have trouble remembering which of the last two is which.

Lol, I used to think they were the same person. Which is weird because they don't look alike at all. Or act alike or anything.

I don't think what they do is really acting, so I guess that's one similarity.

Can't stand anything pumpkin spice, including the pie that started it all.

I'm with you. I never understood the appeal, or how or why it just exploded into the seasonal-flavor-set milieu about 10 years ago. Yet the pumpkin beer, martini, and cheesecake are all loaded into the Fall Menu Autopilot Program, ready to drop the 3rd week of September.

I can't get enough pumpkin pie or pumpkin bread, but that's my hard limit. But I've honestly never found a pumpkin pie as good as what dear old mom used to make. A couple come close, most not even remotely.

I once subscribed to cable television just so I could watch the OJ trial live on E!.

That was madness. Half of my high school got detention for skipping class to watch the verdict in the library. Unless, of course, your teacher for that particular period was also in the library watching the verdict, too.

Did you watch The People vs OJ Simpson on Netflix? Very well done.

Yes, and I thought it was very good. I think of those days as the time this country started to go crazy.

Or the time that mass media conquered the national consciousness. It's always been crazy, but that was when people began to hear about things they never would have before.

2700 posts, and there are only ten or so I wish I had back. Not bad, I guess.

Sometimes I tell myself I can have a beer if I write 1000 words. Then I write 500 and have one anyways.

hey, it’s 500 more words than if I just started with the beer :meh:

So you've wasted about 17,000 fewer hours of your life than the rest of us? I'd hardly call that a confession...
