    Copy/pasting in submission queries

Discussion in 'Publishing' started by John Franklin Dandridge, Aug 23, 2015.

I've noticed most agents requests writing samples be copy/pasted into the body of email queries. Reason why, I can only assume. But is there a way to do this without paragraphs and indents being destroyed? Or do agents just not care about this?

You can paste it formatted in Outlook, for example, but depending on what email the agent is using and how it is set up it may come over as a wall of text. Best not to worry about indenting and put a double space between paragraphs. They ask for this to avoid viruses in attachments, I believe.

Viruses is what I assumed. It just seems so odd that they prefer blocks of texts.
