    covering letter techniques

    i found that i will need to write a cover letter and i was wondering what is a good technique that will make the publishers gain interest in my book? how long should i make it? what type of words should i use?

    a 'cover' letter is a very short letter that accompanies a submission to an agent or publisher, after your 'query' letter has gotten them interested enough to request your ms or sample chapters...

    a 'query' letter is what you send to agents [or directly to publishers who'll accept queries from authors] to interest them in your book so they will then request the submission of the ms or sample chapters...

    i have several good articles on how to write effective queries that i'll be happy to pass on if you send me an email...
