Throw me some plots for short stories based on these characters!

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by Escarlata La Piñata, Oct 19, 2021.

I am starting a Stranger Things-themed (it's set in Hawkins and loosely based on some of the elements) fan-fiction about a group of boy-girl scout middle school aged kids. I only have the character descriptions down but I need ideas on what kind of plots/stories I can make for them. Can y'all help me out? Here are the descriptions:

Troop Leader Jed: The troop leader of the Hawkins Scouts Troop 84. A man with light brown hair, fair skin, and a stern yet laid back posture, he's always making sure that his troop is just as good as all the other Hawkins Scouts troops. Sure, his troop might not be the best troop out there, but he absolutely loves the group of unique and outspoken preteens that he sees twice a week. He is quite friendly to the parents of his troopers, and he's never had any uncomfortable confrontations with a parent (well, maybe one time, when Mrs. Fernandez urged him to allow her daughter to wear pants instead of a skirt for her daughter's HS uniform). Overall, he's a fun guy to hang around who's always got adventure and exploration on the brain, whether it's venturing in the outdoors or exploring other troopers' cultures.

6th Grader Scouts + Their Parents (important parents in italics):

Logan Henderson: A kid who's proud to be bald. He's a cool dude who has a lot of friends, but it wasn't always like that. Logan used to be the school bully. Everyone in 5th grade was afraid of him. Now he's in 6th grade, and his personality is changing. He's starting to think that his father's jazz music is cool. He's being more friendly towards people. He's even standing up against bullying, after a group of mean girls at his school made fun of his baldness! Logan is also afraid of the dark, and whenever he's feeling lonely or sad, he talks and plays with his pet cat, Zydeco. He has been awarded the "Excellent Thinker" award by Troop Leader Jed.

Francis Henderson: Logan's father, who is a famous jazz musician from New Orleans. Like Logan, he's bald, but the only difference is that he has a bushy brownish blonde beard. When Mr. Henderson found out about Logan's reputation as a bully, he began talking to his son using discliplinary tones and letting him know that consequences are serious. Mr. Henderson has a jazz band called "The Jumpin' Frank Jazz Band" with 12 members - him included! He is very passionate about jazz music, that he can ramble on and on about it, and can break out in a saxophone solo whenever he's got his trusty Mr. Sax with him... and eventually, Logan will end up playing the sax just like his father! His biggest rival - some might say frenemy - is Clarinda "La Jefa" Fernandez, the lead vocalist of the brutal death metal band Infectomy.

Max Russo: A boy with crazy blue hair, Max is often the one person that often ends up in uncomfortable situations. For one, his mother and father are too poor to support him, so he lives with his Aunt Becky and Uncle Steve, along with his cousin Britt. He's often in the middle of crazy scenarios that the boys of Troop 84 unwillingly put him through. When he hit puberty, it became an awkward lecture for the rest of the troopers. When weird, conspiracy theory-obsessed trooper Stuart Danger Gonzalez was assigned by Troop Leader Jed to spent the night at Max's apartment, Max was bombarded with Stu's crazy lies about his fellow trooper friends such as Clara and Grahme. He was pressured to go inside Hawkins' most infamous haunted house and explore it with Andy, Gunther, and Stuart - even though Clara didn't want anyone interrupting her yoga session with her middle-aged adult metalhead friends. He couldn't afford to give his friends Secret Santa gifts: this year he gave Andy a bag of Christmas candy from Dollar Mart, and the year before that, back when his entire 5th grade class was part of Hawkins Scouts, he gave Clara his old sweater with holes and stains all over it. It didn't even fit her at all! He has never gotten any cool toys for Christmas, as his aunt and uncle can only afford to get him new clothes. The greatest gift he ever got this year turned his life upside down - when Gunther gifted Clara $1,000 for the Secret Santa exchange, she ended up buying a Z-Box with new games... but instead of it going to her, her sister, her mother, or even her brother, she gave it to Max - who fainted at the sight of such an expensive gift given to him for once. His Aunt Becky is a delivery driver for Dominic's Pizza. He has been awarded the "Green Thumb" award by Troop Leader Jed.

Rebecca "Becky" Russo-Salazar: Max's aunt and mother figure since he was 5 years old. She works night shift as a delivery driver for Dominic's Pizza, which means Max sometimes never gets to see her. The sister of Max's father, she also has blue hair like Max. She does the best she can to prove to Max that he is more important than her job - even though her job pays some of the bills for them.

Steven "Steve" Salazar: Max's uncle and father figure since he was 5 years old. He is a stay at home dad who works as an online car salesman in order to provide for both Max and Britt. He has a head of curly brown hair that's slowly turning gray, but his age doesn't reflect his energetic personality. He wishes that Max could have a better life and the latest gadgets and electronics - but Steve and Becky's income goes straight to bills and providing food and necessities for Max and Britt.

Brittany "Britt" Russo-Salazar: Max's 32 year old cousin. Like Max and her mother, she also has blue hair. She can never be seen without her phone in her hand. She wishes she could work somewhere in order to afford a new phone, but her parents want her to stay at home. Max thinks that she should talk to him, but she would rather bury herself in social media gossip.

Andy Robles: He may be chubby and cute, but Andy is one of the smartest troopers in Troop 84 (he's third place; Gunther is the smartest trooper who has also been accepted to MENSA, while Clara is the second smartest due to her amazing mathematical abilities). Andy loves science (he wants to work for NASA when he grows up), technology (he helped Stuart build his outlandish gadgets, such as the "Eleven is an Evil Space Alien" detector) video games (Bobby, Clara, and Alvin usually come over to play his newest Z-Box games), board and card games (Nautika, Alvin, and Grahme usually play traditional board games with him, Bobby, Eleven, and Miley trade and play Hökeymon cards with him while Logan prefers Yamigo cards and Clara would rather collect and play Horrordex cards, and Stuart and Gunther play tabletop RPGs like Spooky Space Death Battle 3000 with him), science fiction (Logan also likes the Galaxy Fight saga), comics (Gunther also likes the Vindicators comics and movies, while Alvin also likes the Happy Howdy Gang strips), and punk rock ("Death metal is much, much better!" Clara once told him). He lives in a small house with his stepmother, who works as a programmer for a major video game company as a living. For the Secret Santa exchange party, he wore an inflatable snowman costume. He has been awarded the "Most Creative" award by Troop Leader Jed.

Julia Soto: Andy's stepmother. With long black hair and a curvy body type, she is not the image that pops into one's head when they say she's a programmer for Finbendo, the biggest video game company in the world. Her job keeps her going, not only to provide for Andy and pay the bills, but to quench Andy's thirst for everything geeky. Andy's father unexpectedly died in a car crash, while his divorced mother didn't want anything to do with him, so Julia, Andy's father's new wife, became his sole legal guardian two years ago. Andy and Julia cope with their grief and anxiety by immersing themselves in the things they love - and those things are all the geekiest things in the world.

Alvin and Nautika Rodriguez: Alvin and Nautika are identical twins, which means most of the time, they do everything the same together. They also pretty much have the same haircut, but definitely have the same features, such as eyes, skin, and bright red hair. That doesn't mean they don't have minds of their own; Alvin likes video games and comedy, while Nautika likes everything girly: be it dresses, the color pink, and makeup. Nautika has taught Eleven how to be a popular "cool" girl, but when Eleven became obsessed with being cool, Nautika felt ashamed because she pretty much taught Eleven to act just like her. When Alvin broke one of Andy's new video games, he tries to come up with clever ways to tell Andy why he broke the game so Andy won't get mad at him. He decides to tell the truth when Clara tells him not to be afraid and to never lie, no matter how scared he is of the consequences. When the twins get head lice, they eventually spread the lice to their classmates, and even troopers Miley and Bobby. Logan, who is bald, helps them get rid of their lice immediately. When Miley wants to join her school's basketball team, but is denied a place in the team because she's a girl, she turns to Nautika to teach her how to dress as a boy, as Nautika has to live with Alvin every single day. During their Secret Santa exchange, the twins wore matching reindeer onesies - and were each other's not-so-Secret Santas by giving each other matching pajamas. Nautika eventually gets glasses after she struggles to see things from afar. Since their mother left them and their father got arrested for possession of illegal substances, the twins live with their grandparents and have been since 2nd grade. Their grandfather, Tino, is a famous photographer for the local newspaper, The Hawkins Hearsay. They have a pet pug named Goldie, who is a lazy bum and likes to chase her own tail. Alvin was awarded "Most Curious" and Nautika was awarded "Best Photographer" by Troop Leader Jed.

Tino Rodriguez: The twins' grandfather. Because of his age, his once bright red hair is now a pale pink. He is the photographer for The Hawkins Hearsay, and gets paid $200 a week for his job. He believes that seperation will be the twins' downfall.

Aida Rodriguez: The twins' grandmother. Unlike Tino, she has wonderful snow-white hair due to age. She can always be seen enjoying a cup of coffee on her front porch while reading a good book. She believes that the twins should explore life in seperate paths, as it will help them develop unique personalities.

7th Grader Scouts + Their Parents (important parents in italics):

Emilia "Miley" Cyrus: A gorgeous young lady with her beautiful black hair in a bun, she is often seen as the feminine counterpart to Clara's masculine appearance and tomboyish attitude. No wonder those two are best friends, even though she is a year younger than Clara! Miley is proud to be a part of Troop 84, as she feels she needs exposure to everything she hasn't seen or done. She got the nickname Miley because first of all, she didn't like her birth name, Emilia, when she was younger (but is appreciating it now as she gets older), and second of all, her favorite celebrity was Miley Cyrus growing up. She is very supportive of Eleven, a creature created in Hawkins National Laboratory who is learning to be a real girl. She has an interest in joining her middle school's basketball team, but since they don't allow girls, she tries to learn how to masquerade as a boy. Clara tells her to just be herself and not hide who she truly is, and recommends a local all-girl's basketball team in the community. She and Eleven go to the hospital to support Clara when she got her appendix removed. She wore a tacky but jolly holiday dress for the Secret Santa exchange. When Clara ran off into the girls' locker room after being embarrassed over her singing voice, Eleven goes to check up on Clara, who angrily attacks Eleven for "spying" on her when she was singing alone in the locker room. Miley becomes concerned and follows her instincts to be a supportive friend. She is shocked that her best friend reacted in such a way, but assured Clara that there's nothing wrong with singing and being a metalhead at the same time. Miley, Clara, and Eleven are always seen together as a friend group, and that summer, they go on a camping trip in Mrs. Fernandez's RV - I mean the Infectomy tour van - and bring Andy along for the ride as well. She is obsessed with watching TekTuk videos and seeing her favorite web celebrities on MyScreen. (Clara, however, can't stand TekTuk, Instantgraphy, and Shotchatter, and would rather spend her time looking at videos and Chirps on Chirper from her favorite metalhead celebrities and wrestlers!) She has a pet brown rabbit named Donut. Her mother is a police officer for Hawkins PD, who teaches young children that girls can be anything they want to be when they grow up. She has been awarded the "Best Writer" award from Troop Leader Jed.

Officer Doris Cyrus: Miley's mother, who is also a police officer for Hawkins PD. The friendliest police officer in her department, she is always there to help people in need and defend crime. She grew up in a family that taught her that the police are no help at all, but when she joined Hawkins PD, her parents immediately saw that she's the crimefighter Hawkins depends on. Dr. Beederman has proudly claimed that Officer Cyrus is the greatest modern African American hero Hawkins has ever seen. When not on the job, she enjoys spending quality family time with her loved ones.

Jamal Cyrus: Miley's father and the proud wife of Officer Cyrus, he is a bona fide family man. He's literally the man of the house; while Doris is away, he cleans, cooks, and ensures the safety of his children.

Tasha Cyrus: Miley's 15 year old sister. She dreams of becoming a social media influencer, and boasts a million followers on Instantgraphy. She loves wearing makeup and jewelry more than Miley does, and saves up to buy the hottest fashion brands on social media.

Florence Cyrus: Miley's 10 year old sister. She likes to collect miniature dolls like the OMG Mystery dolls that are taking her elementary school by storm. She also likes to play video games on her Finbendo Swatch. Her enthusiastic personality and kind heart has helped her make a lot of friends in school.

Jenna Cyrus: Miley's 7 year old sister. She likes to collect dolls too, but is jealous of Florence's collection. She usually helps Miley feed and play with Donut. She also likes to draw and paint. She doesn't really have a lot of friends, but she's glad her family is there to support her.

Gunther Saville: The richest kid in all of Hawkins. Why? Because he's the son of the famous multi-billionaire designer and painter Sal Saville! With his luxurious faux mink-fur scarf from up-and coming Malaysian designer Dillo, his $2,500 pearl-white fancy dress long-sleeve shirt and pants outfit from Michael Kross, $5,000 prescription glasses by Warwick Porter, and his shiny black $3,000 shoes by Alco Brandere, he is pretty much his wealth, personified. But just because he's wealthy doesn't mean he can't be a normal kid. Due to his wealthiness, he is the surprising love interest of Eleven. Clara is always grateful for him, because Sal Saville sees the Fernandezes as "the chosen few for a wealthy life" because their pointy noses, according to the Savilleometer, are a sign of good luck and prosperity. Therefore, Gunther is always giving Clara some money here and there to either help her family or treat herself to some band merch. He has become Eleven's best friend as he's the only one who knows her secret - she was created and lives in a gated laboratory and is exploited for her skills by the personnel there. Due to their undying friendship, he helped Eleven come up with a speech representing Troop 84, sent her to the alternate dimension she was created in to help her broken leg feel better, teaches her how to earn money so she can buy a CD, invites her over to his father's private mansion as his assigned homework for Hawkins Scouts, and eventually becomes her husband in the future, as seen in footage from an abandoned time machine. He also likes to play board games with Andy, and has been qualified by MENSA for his intelligence. Like his father, Gunther is a vegan. He has been awarded the "Most Daring" award from Troop Leader Jed.

Salvatorre "Sal" Saville: Gunther's father and Hawkins' most wealthy individual. He is the owner of Saville Mansion, a private four-story mansion and 150 acre yard with a golf course, go-kart track, indoor swimming pool, fancy restaurant and gigantic sauna room. Only those with an invitation are allowed in. His luxurious blonde hair and expensive designer clothes reflect the type of person he is. A clothes designer and painter, he is very kind to others yet precise and orderly. He doesn't like how today's children are disrespectful to their elders and obsessed with their looks and what strangers on the internet think about them. He is a connisseur of classical music, and refuses to give other types of music a chance. He applauds Clarinda "La Jefa" Fernandez's singing voice, but he believes that Clarinda being in a death metal band instead of using her beautiful voice to sing lovely songs is wasteful for her health and her future. He is openly gay, is an advocate for animal rights, and had adopted Gunther from Korea when he was a newborn from a family willing to give him up to an abusive family.

Specimen IRK-011 "Eleven": A green creature known as an "irken," who was created in an alternate universe called the Upside Down by Dr. Brenner and his crew in the Hawkins National Laboratory. Eleven's sole wish is to live her life like a human, so she is sent to public school to learn how to think and act like her human peers. Eleven develops a crush on Gunther, whom she calls "Money Boy," Her other friends include Miley ("Ball Hair," due to her hair in a poofy bun), Clara ("Pointy," due to her pointy nose), Bobby ("Cool Boy"), and Andy ("Smart Boy"). She has become one of Stuart's obsessions due to her not mentioning her parents or her family, and of course, because of her appearance. Stuart thinks she's an alien from outer space; he doesn't know that she was created in a lab using technology from another dimension. Stuart also thinks that she is evil and wants to destroy everyone in Hawkins, and therefore, she is a threat. She doesn't have a last name either, and Stuart is also extremely curious about what it really is. She insists it's "Lastname" which is what is always put on her school documents due to her lack of a last name. She joined Hawkins Scouts to learn the human culture, and she has gotten herself in some truly human issues. She tried to fit in by being popular and cool, but she looked really weird doing so. She was completely blank on what Troop 84 stands for, so Gunther helped program her Pak (a shell-like device attached to her back that acts as her brain) with the vital information to start a speech. Because she has no free knowledge on how to think, she either copies others or repeats others' words. She also rarely says much, because her vocabulary is limited. ("Eleven... scared of... Pointy... sorry" is how she expressed fear after Clara pushed her against the locker room wall.) She has weird behaviors only found in Upside Down creatures such as irkens: her antennae perk when she is happy, and droop when she is sad; she can climb onto any ledge like an insect; she can extrude her tongue; her Pak has many different weapons and tools, such as a rotating blade for cutting objects, and a pipe camera for taking pictures; she has night vision. She also has developed some aspects of human behavior and interests: she gives descriptive nicknames to her friends; she likes a pop singer named Adrian Finkle; she knows what money is and wants to learn how to make and spend it; she can express pain, fear, anxiety, happiness, and other basic human feelings using limited phrases and obvious facial expressions; she knows how to trick humans (like Edward, who was assigned to stay over at her house) into thinking ordinary people are her "real" parents; she showed awe and curiosity when touring the Saville Mansion; she showed empathy for Clara by gifting her a teddy bear when Clara was getting her appendix removed; she tried her best to give a meaningful gift to Grahme for the Secret Santa exchange (a bag of rice and a spatula may seem like ordinary objects to humans, but to Eleven, she thinks it's meaningful and special enough to give as a gift); she really enjoyed the doll Miley gave her in the same exchange (but unlike human girls, she loved it so much that she ripped the doll's head off); she became concerned, protective, and fearful of Clara at the same time; she expressed pain and fear by screaming "Pointy, no!" when Clara was violently attacking her for "spying" on her in the locker room; she can express sadness and forgiveness by crying and saying sorry; she can hug her friends for comfort and to ensure that she is their friend; she giggles at Fernando's nickname, "Nandito"; she has knowledge of past, present, and future; she can tell a scary story with appropriate tone if proper information for such is inserted in her Pak; she becomes startled by Mrs. Fernandez and her "Captain Death Metal" movie so much, that she also becomes afraid of Clara. Eleven is also great at using technology, due to being raised in a research lab: she knows what a time machine is and how to operate it; she knows how to hack into computers and rid computers of viruses; in the future, her Pak becomes so full of knowledge that she behaves and speaks naturally like a human. Eleven will eventually become taller and much smarter in the future, as seen in the time machine footage, but for now, she has a lot to learn. She has been awarded "Most Musical" by Troop Leader Jed.

Xochitl Perez: A shy and quiet girl with straight black hair and a smile wherever she goes. Why is she so quiet? She only speaks Spanish and isn't confident enough to speak English in public due to her less than basic ability to speak it. Her parents and grandmother were born in Mexico, but she and her siblings Araceli, Yesenia, and Rodrigo were born in Hawkins. Stuart and Logan often make fun of her limited knowledge of English - and have even gifted her materials to learn English for two years straight in the Secret Santa giveaway! Her mother has passed away from breast cancer, so her grandmother, who is the manager of a Mexican meat market in Hawkins, is the one providing for the family. Her older sister Araceli speaks fluent English, and encourages Xochitl not to be afraid of her accent. She gets support from sadly only two troopers: Clara, who is bilingual like the rest of her family, and Andy, who is studying Spanish in school and would like to share his experience with her. She has been awarded "Most Helpful" by Troop Leader Jed.

Concepcion Perez: Xochitl's grandmother and mother figure. She is the manager of La Carniceria Meat Market. She speaks mostly Spanish.

Jose Andres Perez: Xochitl's father. He is very strict and orderly. He speaks English at a basic level and encourages Xochitl to learn more English.

Araceli Perez: Xochitl's 23 year old sister. Usually has her hair in a ponytail like Xochitl. Is more fluent in English than anyone in her family. She wishes she could become a pop singer.

Yesenia Perez: Xochitl's 9 year old sister. Like Xochitl, she's having trouble learning English. She has future dreams of becoming an actress, so she is trying hard to become fluent in English like Araceli.

Rodrigo Perez: Xochitl's 5 year old brother. Is barely being introduced to basic English words. He likes animals and enjoys visiting the zoo with his family. He is also a huge fan of his grandmother's cooking.

Grahme Giblet: A girl from the country Glihpglöhp, which has German, Russian, Dutch, and Scandinavian influences. Grahme is always polite and to herself, and is very helpful. Her family comes from a historical goat herding clan in Glihpglöhp called Hüjsbøhnn. While the family's only ties to goats is their pet goat, Niko, that doesn't stop Stuart from creating wack conspiracy theories about her: that she eats goats, sleeps with goats, has a goat-based product business, and is half-human, half-goat herself. All of which are false. Stuart also thinks Grahme lives a backwards life like they supposedly do in Glihpglöhp, even though Glihpglöhp has electricity, cars, the internet (including the computer virus-riddled streaming service Njetfleeks), fast food restaurants, and modern clothes. Grahme doesn't live in a straw hut like Stuart thinks - she lives in a house! Her mother is a well known attorney in the Hawkins area - The Law Offices of Tinka Giblet wouldn't exist in Stuart's world! She eats American food, with the occasional Glihpglöhpian dish! They dress like modern people - only Grahme likes wearing her winter hat year round, and her mom wears a fashionable scarf! One thing that she does that traditional Glihpglöhpian people do is craft things out of wood and paint them in traditional patterns. She is also great at gymnastics. She has been awarded "Outstanding Scouter" by Troop Leader Jed.

Tinka Giblet: Grahme's mother and well-known attorney. She is very skilled at her job and has a satisfaction rate of 100% from everyone she meets. She wants Grahme to get a good education in order to succeed in life.

Klaus Giblet: Grahme's father. He is the owner and primary carer for Niko the goat. He often lists Niko in pet fashion shows, and has won several ribbons. He dresses up as Santa every Christmastime and brings Niko, dressed as Rudolph, with him. Grahme once joked that her father loves Niko more than anyone in this world.

Sven Giblet: Grahme's 20 year old brother. He loves hockey and even plays in Hawkins' youth hockey league. His dream is to become a professional hockey player. Sometimes, he takes Grahme ice skating when the hockey rink isn't in use.

8th Grader Scouts + Their Parents (important parents in italics):

Clara Fernandez: With a shaved head of prickly black hair, a distinct pointy nose that runs within her family, a black T-shirt with a skull on it, camo print cargo pants, and black combat boots, it's no surprise that Clara defies gender roles. She's a metalhead, just like her mother, she loves superheroes and wrestling, and there is no way she'll ever like anything "girly," but she still likes to hang around with girls, especially Miley and Eleven. When she is threatened or embarrassed, she tends to become violent and angry, which is a trait that runs in her mother's bloodline. She may look tough on the outside, but on the inside, she's quite complex. As the only girl in Troop 84 that has already hit puberty (she has done so in 7th grade), she has become quite mature for her age. She has her weaknesses though - she's allergic to boisenberries and she had her appendix removed - but her biggest weakness of all, in her opinion, is her beautiful singing voice, which she feels isn't appropriate for a tomboyish metalhead like her. She wants to become a metal vocalist like her mother, but she can never achieve a brutal vocal style like her mother, at least for now. School bullies often get a lesson learned from her - her intimidating looks and naturally deep voice scares them away and makes them immediately regret their bullying ways. She has a pet tarantula named Dr. Ticklestein, and show and tell becomes a nightmare for her classmates. Nonetheless, she loves her freakish yet lovable pet. She is the only trooper in Troop 84 that wears contacts. She has been awarded the "Giving Heart" award from Troop Leader Jed.

Clarinda Dulce Margarita Chavez Delgado Fernandez (or just Clarinda Fernandez): Clara's mother, who is not only an Air Force veteran, but the lead vocalist for the first all-female brutal death metal band, Infectomy, where she is known as her band alias, Clarinda La Jefa (literally "Clarinda the Boss" in Spanish). Because of Infectomy, she has 15 million followers on Chirper, and her band is the decade's best selling death metal band. Probably the tallest woman is Hawkins, she and the Fernandezes call a creepy Victorian-esque black house on the end of Elm Street - in which its interior screams more "retro art deco" than "haunted house," - their home sweet home. Like her daughters, she keeps her head shaved, but to distinguish herself from other metalhead women with buzz cuts, she has a widow's peak that compliments her pointy nose and her intimidating appearance. She is often seen wearing death metal band tees - but they are always coincidentally inappropriate (for example, she wore an Organ Splitter tee while her daughter Clara was getting her appendix removed, and a Hack the Talented tee when she attended the Hawkins Scouts talent show). The reason she has a pointy nose is because she was just born that way. She is not related to the infamous pointy nosed Fernandez family in any way - until she married Jorge, the descendant of Franz Fernandez, the pointy nosed, original mayor of Hawkins. Because she was an Air Force pilot, she has lost her left leg in an accident, and wears a prosthetic leg, which is often not shown due to her pants and boots covering it up most of the time. Like Clara, Mrs. Fernandez also has a pretty singing voice, and sang for her fellow Air Force pilots. However, she rarely sings nowadays due to being in a brutal death metal band. Her favorite pizza is Meat Lovers; when Clara told her that she was assigned to provide the pizza for Troop 84's pizza party, she didn't know Troop Leader Jed asked for pepperoni until last minute, when Clara opened the pizza boxes in the car and saw that all the pizzas they ordered were her mom's favorite rather than the universally enjoyed pepperoni.

Jorge Fernandez: The descendant of Franz Fernandez, Hawkins' very first mayor, Mr. Fernandez is a busy man. He works at WallyMart as a cashier, while his veteran wife Clarinda stays at home. Because he's related to the original mayor, he has a distinct pointy nose. When he met Clarinda in high school, it was love at first sight... he never thought he'd meet someone his age with such a pointy nose. When Clarinda joined the Air Force at age 20, he was stripped of the love of his life... until in 2004, they met once again at a pizza parlor and eventually got married. A year later, they had Fernando, their first child. Fernando was nothing Mr. Fernandez expected - he didn't have a pointy nose at all! When Clara came along, he realized that his daughter's nose was evolving from a baby stub to a truly pointy Fernandez nose... and he couldn't have been prouder. He also is the cook for the family - he often is the one in the kitchen, while Clarinda is usually either watching TV, playing action-packed video games, reading novels about scary stuff, or practicing her vocals. He's also the one who cleans the house, does the laundry, and pays the bills - can you say "dedicated," folks?

Fernando Fernandez: With a messy mop of black hair, and a lack of a pointy Fernandez nose, 15 year old Fernando doesn't fit in at all. He's a well-renowned emo kid... which means he's not a metalhead like his siblings or his mother. His father can't stand his emo music either - as he's a fan of oldies! Fernando also likes watching reality TV - while his sisters and mom like watching wrestling and superhero movies and shows, and his father enjoys watching game shows and the local news! Due to his lack of a pointy nose, very few people know his relation to the Fernandezes... but at this point, he doesn't care. He's just another emo kid.

Mariana Fernandez: The youngest of the Fernandez bunch, and the youngest one in the family with a pointy nose, 4 year old Mariana may be small, but she's stronger than you think. Often one to blurt out inappropriate things in a grocery store, she's also a metalhead like her older sister and her mother, but her delivery and attitude is more feisty than intimidating or mature. Unlike Clara, Mariana definitely can do a terrifying metal scream like her mother, and has become the most feared kid at her preschool. Mariana likes to humiliate Clara and Fernando in front of their parents all the time - and she does it for fun! There's some things in this world she doesn't understand, like why her older sister Clara had her appendix removed, or why her mom sometimes gets her food for free at restaurants, but of course, her imagination often takes center stage. She thinks thunderstorms are caused by God burping, and that there's a baby dragon inside the microwave that heats up their food! Also like Clara, Mariana refuses to be a girly girl - she dresses the same as her sister and mother, she also likes superheroes, and she's a fan of anything gross and slimy. Mrs. Fernandez once got a call from a Little Sundrops Preschool teacher saying that Mariana pooped in the sandbox because she was pretending to be a cat using the litterbox! If someone publicly insults Mrs. Fernandez or Clara, due to either their pointy noses or masculine appearances, Mariana is always the one to throw shade on whoever decided to make fun of her family.

Stuart Gonzalez: Where to begin on this one? Well, needless to say, he's the most hated trooper in Troop 84. Why? Well, I'll tell ya why!!! Stuart is a nerd, but not in a good way. He obsesses over certain troopers in Troop 84 - and tries to prove conspiracy theories that he made up about them as true. His most frequent subject is Clara, who he is convinced is a boy who thinks he's a girl. Because of Clara's dressing style, tomboyish attitude, traditionally masculine interests such as death metal and wrestling, and her deep voice, Stuart tries to prove that "Claro 'The Boy' Fernandez" is in fact a male who wants to be treated as a female. He even has photoshopped Adam's apples on closeups of Clara's neck! Another trooper with frequent conspiracy theories written by Stuart is Eleven. He's convinced she's an evil alien from outer space and that her alien army will come down to Earth to destroy Hawkins and eat its inhabitants alive. Little does he know that Eleven's not a creature from space, but from an alternate dimension discovered by HNL personnel. Other theories, that are PROVEN FALSE, that plague his insane mind are: Xochitl speaks English, but pretends not to; Grahme is a half-human, half-goat hybrid; Sal Saville is controlling the moon phases so he can gain power every full moon; Clarinda Fernandez is not only a male like "Claro," but also a vampire; and that Troop Leader Jed is a robot in a human disguise. His totally 100% false theories and his erratic behavior is why his fellow troopers hate him. He makes Logan afraid to hit puberty (Stu has hit puberty, but makes it seem like it's a scary thing), fears that Grahme will bring goat chips and Clara will bring pizza with blood sauce to the Hawkins Scouts pizza party, pressures Bobby, his assigned sleepover project buddy, that he can't leave until he truly declares that his friend Clara is a boy, forces poor Max to believe his conspiracy theories, goes inside a haunted house just to see if Clara, who is practicing yoga outside, is a male due to her yoga poses, gets angry at his award and feels that Grahme doesn't deserve the "Outstanding Scouter" award due to her being in a "backwards country" in his opinion, puts his entire troop down by insulting them and making it seem that his intelligence is superior just because he ~accidentally~ was issued acceptance to MENSA, fumes over his Secret Santa exchange gift from Clara - a white shirt with "KICK ME!!!" written on it as a snarky comeback for his "Clara is a boy" theories, gives Bobby a photo album of mostly photoshopped pictures of Clara, entitled "Proof that Claro Fernandez is a Male," and tells Troop 84 that Clarinda Fernandez is a man, right on the day she is going to visit the troop's room. When little Mariana is instructed by Mrs. Fernandez to beat up Stuart after he loudly assumes that Mrs. Fernandez and Clara are males, Stuart later comes back in the room paralyzingly terrified of the Fernandezes. Will Stuart still make his fellow troopers angry any more? Only time will tell... And because he is not productive, he was awarded "Exceptional Scouter" by Troop Leader Jed. And Stu was NOT HAVING IT.

Robert Gonzalez: Stuart's father and local mechanic. He is disgusted at Stuart becoming a paranoid conspiracy theorist - and threatened him several times that he will cut off the internet in his room. He has apologized to the Fernandezez, the Giblets, the Perezes, Sal Saville, and Troop Leader Jed SEVERAL TIMES due to Stuart's behavior. At this point, he has had enough and is disgusted at his own son, who is now spending more time locked in his room rather than spending time with his mom and dad.

Alicia Gonzalez: Stuart's mother. She has called the police several times on Stuart, but he never learns his lesson. She tried spying on his activities by installing a Wi-Fi activity tracker, and what she found was shocking: Stuart can spend all day and all night binge reading conspiracy theory and urban legend forums and websites online. He even filled out a (fake) form to confirm that he's going to raid Area 51! Like her husband, she has already had enough of Stu's shenanigans, and quietly wishes she had another son.

Edward Cullen: He is the only trooper in Troop 84 that is autistic. He has a fixation on drawing cartoon characters, goes crazy when his routine is disrupted or changed, must know everything in advance, needs a quiet space when his senses are overloaded, and has a hard time looking people in the eye. Bobby once told him, "Wanna hang with me?" which means "Want to spend time with me?" and Edward took it literally, yelling "I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!" thinking he was going to be hung by Bobby. Clara suggested that Troop Leader Jed does more research on autism, as Edward is the first autistic scouter he's ever had. He has been awarded "Friend to Animals" by Troop Leader Jed.

Kristoff Cullen: Edward's father and firefighter for the Hawkins Fire Department. Edward developed an obsession with fire alarms after seeing one in action at the fire department building where his dad works.

Yumi Watanabe-Cullen: Edward's mother, who immigrated from Japan. She doesn't have as much of an understanding of autism like her husband does.

Bobby Beederman: The coolest kid in the 8th grade, Bobby's a dude who's hip to all the trends, whether it be Hökeymon or his favorite show, 70 Day Bachelor. Bobby has the HUGEST crush on Clara, who is not only a classmate of his, but a trooper like him in Troop 84! His crush becomes obvious in many areas, as they often hang out together. When he was being bullied, Clara scared away the boy who was tormenting him - for good. When he finds out Clara is allergic to boisenberries, found in the super popular Bubble Berry Blast candy, he introduces her to another popular candy that won't give her an allergic reaction - Bubbi's Chocolate Bubblegum Bar. When Clara was assigned to spend the night at his house, his mother was afraid that she was possessed by demons due to her love of metal music, her pointy nose, and because of her haircut and "dark and edgy" clothing. But he proved that she is his friend before anything else, and teaches her how to shoot hoops and play basketball with him and his sister Melody. He visits Clara during her second week of staying in the hospital. Stuart gives him an embarrasing gift - a photo album of mostly fake photos of Clara with false claims that his "girlfriend" is actually a boy. He travels into the past and future with Clara and Eleven, and realizes that in the future, he will eventually marry his crush and have two children. But besides being a total swoon for the metalhead girl from school, Bobby has had quite an adventure with Troop 84. He got lice from Alvin and Nautika. He successfully escaped from Stuart's house - his assigned sleepover project buddy - because Stu forced him to say these 11 dreadful and untrue words: "I, Bobby Beederman, confirm that Claro Fernandez is biologically a male." He breaks the national Hawkins Scouts record for the most badges i history, and his award inspires Troop Leader Jed to hand out awards to the other troopers so they won't feel left out. He senses that Stuart's acceptance letter from MENSA was a mistake - and tells Troop Leader Jed to disqualify Stuart, who wasn't the correct MENSA student to be announced. His father, a doctor, made a powerful speech about unity and seeing people as who they are on the inside, not the outside.

Dr. Joe Beederman, MD: Bobby's father and Hawkins' most influential African American medical doctor of the 21st century. He teaches Bobby that everyone deserves to be healthy and live a life in peace and harmony.

Wilhemina Beederman: Bobby's mother. At first, she was concerned about Clara being his girlfriend, as she thought the Fernandezes were posessed by demons. She originally objected to Clara coming to stay over at their house - but then her husband's words changed her heart: "It's what's inside a person that matters, not the outside."

Melody Beederman: Bobby's 11 year old sister. She likes to play basketball and mini golf with Bobby. She also likes to ride bikes with Bobby and Darius.

Darius Beederman: Bobby's 7 year old brother. He enjoys being a silly kid who likes to find adventure everywhere he goes. He often pokes fun of Bobby's relationship with Clara. "Why do you like that girl, Bobby? She don't got no hair! That's strange!"

Opal Beederman: Bobby's 4 year old sister. She goes to the same preschool as Mariana, Clara's little sister. She was once afraid of the Fernandezes, and had nightmares about Mariana and Mrs. Fernandez, but now realizes that they're human beings, just like everyone else.

Julius Beederman: Bobby's 1 year old brother. He likes to eat a lot, and when Bobby makes funny faces, he just can't stop laughing!

And I have added a pic I had commissioned on Ebay of the character drawings as well, so you can use for reference.

Some characters have developed more than others, so I'm hoping the more minor scouts get a shining light. View attachment 22375

Characters should be created with a plot in mind already, or maybe start with two or three characters and see how they fit together, what kind of story they suggest. I don't know how you can create a huge cast of characters and expect a story to magically come into existence around them. Characters and plot are integral, they need to be designed to function together like pistons in an engine.

Goodness. So many characters with nothing to do. Sorta like War and Peace without the Russian winter. ;)

Choose your favorite characters, put them in an awkward or threatening situation, then get them out of it. That's your story.

That's a lot of work for a semi-Fan-fic style story. Besides it should be
simple to come up with a plot if it's based off an existing show that you
know the story for, and should be able to add onto or extrapolate form.
By what little I know about Stranger Things, it's like a bunch of kids who
investigate paranormal stuff (I think). So, a group of friends that basically
explore real and made up creepypasta and folklore creatures and things.

They don't start out that way, it's just that there's some really wicked paranormal stuff going on and one of their friends has disappeared, and a girl with a mysterious past and telekinetic powers has appeared and they're harboring her. So at that point they do start investigating the very specific paranormal stuff going on in their little neck of the woods.

This is a lot for you to ask someone to sit down, read, analyze and come up with a story. That's your job.

way too many characters.. pick two or three and start writing, essentially it feels like you are using character development as a method of procrastination. I'd suggest coming up with the story you want to tell first, and creating only the characters that you need to tell that story

    too long. didnt read.

start with a problem. what "problem" crops up that these people need to solve/explore?
what does each of these characters bring to the investigation/resolution of the problem? (they ALL can contribute something, but the main focus has to be narrowed down).
I've seen Stranger Things. the main focus of characters are on Eleven, Mike, Dustin and Lukas. Yes, there are other characters like Mike's sister, Hopper, Joyce, ice cream girl etc. but the MAIN characters are those 4. (I guess, Will.... but he's useless to me).

if you've seen Fear Street: 1978, there is a whole camp of characters but the main characters are Ziggy and Cindy. the problem is: a nurse goes crazy and tries to kill someone. sub problem: Ziggy is a social outcast that no one likes and she doesnt want to be at summer camp anymore. OVER ARCHING PLOT: Kids from Sunnydale absolutely HATE kids from Shadyside.

now, all those characters at that summer camp have some type of role... the stoner, the bully, the goody-goody, sex crazed teen, the nurse, the punk-kid etc.
they ALL play a role in each of those plots, and they all serve to get the main characters (Ziggy and Cindy) to where they need to be for the resolution.

Same with Stranger Things. all those characters get Eleven, Mike, Dustin, and Lukas to a point where they can do the thing and save the day (i.e. save friggin Will in Season 1)

Figure out who your main character is, who's the antagonist, what they're in conflict about, and your other characters will start to fall into place around that conflict.
