The MC's name in my fantasy story have been Fendrael for the longest time, but obviously I had to change that. Can I get your opinion on the name Fendric, as an alternative? The other characters of his race has similar English sounding names, such as Garret, Henry or Humphrey. The time period is not set in any in particular. Though there are mediaeval elements, there are also 18th century "technology" sprinkled here and there.
Personally I like Fendrael better than Fendric but you have your reasons for changing it I am sure. I am not much of a fantasy reader so my opinion is worth very little - hmm, that always seems to apply.
Well, the reason I want to change is because Fendrael is a very commonly used fantasy name, at least in roleplaying games.
I thinks its fine, maybe if you want it a bit more fantasy try fendryk, I'm pretty sure its pronounced the same. yk is alternative to ic in some nordic/germanic names.
