    Grammar Disdain

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by Mike Lee, Oct 31, 2019.

Can I use disdain this way?:

The two have been disdain with each other for as long as Walter can remember.

If not, would it work if it were 'in disdain'? Any other thoughts on how to say it?

Disdain is one of my favorite words! Use it whenever I get a chance.

What you have doesn't quite work. Maybe something like... The disdain between the two has been there for as long as Walter can remember.
