    Removing the cling.

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by SonnehLee, Jun 10, 2008.

So, i need help from you all. My little brother is 10 years old, and is supposed to be leaving for camp on Monday. I was suposed to be working as a counselor and found out all the spots were filled today. And now, he doesn't want to go because i am not going. I reallly want him too since now I have freedom to spend time with my friends.

Any suggestions on how to get him out? He has been so clingy lately. Sleeping in my room, hugging me whenever he sees me, and acting like a three year old.

I went through this same thing with my brother....he would show up at my friend's houses!

Honestly, you might just need to encourage him to get involved in the activities at the camp, talk it up in a way that he might feel like he's missing something if he doesn't go. Keep it positive and interesting.

Finally, please know, the time goes so fast while your living your life, and one day your finding yourself looking back on these days...

Hmmm...I am often wishing for one more bus ride to school, with his (David's) little head on my shoulder...I hated it then. ;)

Be patient, this clingy stage will pass in due time.

I did. lol Well, my mom, my dad isn't home yet. They just kind of look at me sympathetically whenever i bring up the clingy thing, and sometimes say i'm going to miss it. THey're probably right. But I still want him to go to camp.

Tell him to go to camp but if after 2 days he still doesn't like it then you will talk to mom and dad and they will drive you up to pick him up and bring him home.

By the time he has spent one night with all the kids he will not even think about you.

remember the song Hello mudda Hello fada here I am at Camp Grenada.

    maybe teach him the song.
