Do you hang up first?

Ok, this is a simple one.

When you are on a call and the call is at the end and the good-byes and thank-yous have been said, do you hang up first or do you wait for the other person to hang up first?

 

I don't pay any darn attention...I say goodbye and and start to hang up...sometimes they click first..sometimes i guess I do. I really don't care. If we both said goodbye..convo is over whether I hang up or not.

 

I always wait for the other to hang up, because I know how annoying it is when you go to say something and the other hangs up. So, I finish and then wait for them to end the call.

Or: I'll hang up last because I don't want to be the one to officially end the conversation, if you know what I mean. :redface:

 

I wait a couple seconds, but I won't deadlock over it.

 

I have no problem hanging up on someone if it's a conversation that I don't want to continue, but if it's the end of a conversation, we've both said goodbye, I always hang up last. I don't know why, but I've always waited for the click. If I'm not sure if they've hung up or not, I'll even check my phone to see if the call has disconnected before I hit end.

 

I always wait. I have problems using the phone, anyway. For reasons I cannot identify, it's a source of anxiety for me.

 

i do both, but probably wait, more often than not...

what annoys the heck outa me is people who hang up when they deem the conversation is finished, without even a goodbye, or waiting to hear if i'm done, or not...

 

Generally I wait, but I noticed that it depends on the person or the situation (I might be in a hurry), so I voted for the third option.

I hang up first. Usually preceded by the phrase, "What's cool and hangs up?"

 

Unless its someone I have to respect I hang up first all the time. I don't even have to say good bye. As soon as I feel I'm done I might just end the call their with a quick 'See ya.' Its not nice but when they call you back a few secods later it starts a good conversation.

 

Ditto. Speaking on the telephone is always a source of anxiety for me, so I always wait for the other person to hang up first. I dont want to have to answer the phone all over again if the other person isnt finished talking. LOL.

 

I never hang up first. I just can't.

It was a nightmare when I was dating in high school. My mom would get so mad when I would do that whole..."I'll hang up when you hang up first", thing.

 

If I like the person, I hang up last.

If I don't (or if I'm busy), I hang up first.

 

I'll usually hang up first. I'm not one much for the phone anyway, so if the goodbyes have been said I consider the conversation over and hang up...

That being said, ever now and then I'll go to hang up but see that they've hung on after saying goodbye, so I'll watch the screen waiting to see "call ended" come up in case they go to say something else (depends on who the conversation is with, I suppose).

 

I wait for the other person to hang up first. I don't know why, but that's how it is!
