Same and although it sounds like he writes good books I doubt I'll ever get to reading one of his books. I don't read much books anymore. The internet has me. Almost like the matrix has the people in The matrix.

My name is Camdyn Swift...my mother's maiden name is Lewis. It'd be fun to use C.S. Lewis...confuse some people. :p

You should. His general fiction is awesome, and so is his sci-fi (though it is fairly hard sci-fi, in case that isn't your thing). I've only read The Wasp Factory (general fiction), and Consider Phlebas (sci-fi), and I loved them both.

And actually, one of the first things that made me like The Wasp Factory, is that on the inside cover, where books usually have the rave reviews of newspapers/magazines/critics, it had all the awful reviews :p The fact that it seemed to have sense of humour from the out was actually very in keeping with Banks himself, as I found out when we met him (though he did say that wasn't his idea...).

So Rei D. Ashun wouldn't work for you? (I'm kidding.)

You could alter the spelling and go with a French or Italian last name.

    Reigh Laurier

    Reigh Orsini

You could choose a last name that symbolizes or suggests an element of your writing. For example, if exploration is a major theme, you could use a name like Rei Walker, or Rei March, or Rei Travlor.

Say, that's a pretty good idea. I like it! (Might even consider doing it myself)

I can't take full credit. It's a tradition that goes back at least as far as William Shakespeare.

Shake your spear at Shakespeare! Shake your spear at Shakespeare!
    - Ddevil, System of a Down

Really? I thought that was the name he was born with...
Heck, I guess my actual last name (Strain) fits my writing style anyway, so there's probably no need.

Nope, Shakespeare was a pen name. There has been a long standing debate as to who he really was.

He was William Shakespeare. He was my father, and my mother. My brother, my friend. He was you... and me. He was all of us.

Is that from V for Vendetta or did they "borrow" from somewhere else?

I can't believe I made it through as much Shakespeare in high school and college as I did without ever being told that. :(

I just use my real name, Heston Snodgrass. It's strange and it sticks out. I only use that for writing, though.

When I make hip-hop I go by Gremlin. I don't make "bitches and hoes" hip-hop if you were wondering and I prefer the term "beat laureate" as opposed to rapper.

Shark Deth when I'm feeling mysterious.

I have other aliases too, but I like some anonymity.

P.S. - I stay off of social networking sites and mostly live under the radar so don't try stalking me. I also throw a mean right hook. :D

I used to use a pseudonym, with an element of my real name as a little joke. Now, I just use my real name; with a letter to represent my middle name it appears like this above all my works: By Michael A. Arnold.

I use Lexa Starle (last name pronounced star-lay). It's actually an anagram for my first and last name, which I made up one day. I love the sound of it. :)

    Anagrams are fun. :D

You know it never ceases to surpise me just how old some threads are by the time they get ressurrected

I know, I found it by chance and thought it deserved to be resurrected; at least for as long as other members allow it. :D

    Oh thank you! :D

Makes a nice change - usually my threads only ever get ressurrected when someone wants a fight with me, LOL.
