    Car Free Day

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Rei, Sep 22, 2008.

I just heard on the morning news that it's supposed to be International Car Free Day (as in not using your car). Did anyone have any idea about this, and if you, are you actually doing something about it?

Yeah and mine. I went to the local mini place to pick it up and they had the cheek to arrest me !

Not an option for me. I live 36 miles from work, and there's no public transportation I can use instead for that route.

The nerve of them! But then... but look on the bright side. Free accomodation for a night or so! :p hehehe! (always a positive side to things)

And I don't always use my car. Because I try not to go out if I can help it. I'm antisocial! :D

I don't drive so I'm already car free!

That being said, both my parents need their cars, because they obviously can't walk to work and public transportation isn't an option around here. *shrug*

I misread this as being "cat free day."

Now I have to find what I did with my cat....

No, I'm not doing anything about it. There's no other way to get to where I need to get to.

I actually drove somewhere today (I'm still a learner.) I almost put two other cars out of action, which I suppose works toward the cause.

Nope not yet. If I had I'd be forced to go out busking until I had enough money to pay for the repairs :p

Busking is playing an instrument and/or singing on the streets, for money.

Or begging, rather. I'd probably get more money that way. The last music lesson I had was in Yr 2 where I learnt to play Mary had a Little Lamb on the recorder. I'm not nasty enough to put people through that :p
