Once a book captures my attention, it's usually smooth sailing, but I often find myself reluctant to pick the book back up. For me, it's like wanting to have sex before going to bed, but then you remember you're fat and tired. So, does anyone find themselves wanting to read more often than they already do? I'm considering giving myself the responsibility of reading 5 pages, 8 times a day. I used to be able to sit and read 120 pages a day and find myself talking people to death about events in a book, but being an adult is depressing and fucks with my concentration skills. I'm trying to immerse myself more in my books, but adult responsibilities keep poking me. Your thoughts? What works for you?!
It depends on how good the book is! Good book, I won't want to ever put it down, and will give up a good night's sleep to stay up reading it. Mediocre book, I won't care enough to bother.
To my mind: Great book, I read in regular and small doses so as to savour and muse on the revelations. Good book, I escape into its people and places while time in this world goes on >> fast forward >>. Mediocre book, I stay longer than I should and 'hope' it'll improve. Bad book, the regretting of wasted time is in direct proportion to the point of abandonment.
