Hi, my name is Ajay. I'm a 34 year old stay at home mum of 3 beautiful kids. 13, 8 & 3. I wrote a lot as a child/teen mostly poetry but gave it up when I met my husband. Last year I went through a really difficult time with my mental health. On a particularly bad day I picked up my phone and started writing a book. I couldn't put it down. Although it was fiction it does losely represent parts of my life. Being immersed in my fictional writing was better then my reality. I would laugh and I'd cry writing this book I became so emotionally invested in my characters. Book 2 is coming June 18th but I'm in a bit of a rut at the moment. I'm putting everything into this and my sales have stalled marketing every single day. I don't understand it. Those who have read it read it again and again. I still read and I wrote it. It's dramatic, flirty, romantic, sexy and at times so hot I was embarrassed to write it. I hope to find some helpful advise on this sit Have a great day.
Welcome to the forum Ajay. Great story concerning your passion for writing. I am convinced there is a part of the brain that just thrives on the mental stimulation of creating, remembering or just being able to pretend. I have never been able to write either poetry or erotica that I was ever happy with. It could be the romance in my life and always been pretty practical. I have been happily married for 45 years, and there is little to share that would ever be considered spicy or hot, so one part of me does envy you there. Pick a spot where you are stuck and you can post it in one of the workshops after you have critiqued some of the other work posted here. I would suggest you find a couple authors here who have a style you like, comment on their work and I am sure that they will return the favor. The key being like all things in life, you will get out of this place what you put into it first. Welcome fellow writer Bob
I've always had that imaginative side for erotica don't get me wrong, it's still pretty tame to some of the stuff out there. My husband and I met online however many years ago, so it came in handy with being long distant for so long. Married... 13 years this July. I'm in the process of exploring the threads. Thanks for your warm welcome.
Welcome Ajay. From the reaction you describe getting from your writing, it sounds like you passion for the work, shows through.
Welcome, Ajay! I am writing a visceral drama erotica. I would love to see your interpretation of the genre, so hurry up and do those worthy critiques! Looking forward! [Write Without Fear!]
